Maybe in another 30 years we will have another shot at it.

Incredible how quickly this team when from 1st place in the conference to not even getting a double bye in the BTT.

Guess I better start taking care of myself so that I can live to see it. 39 years old.. And have never seen a big ten title. And don't give me this BTT crap.

We controlled our own destiny.. And totally pi$$ed the whole thing down our legs.

I have just completely given up on Iowa basketball. We haven't won the Big 10 regular season or even been to the Final 4 in how many years now? Mediocre program is what Iowa is.

Why are you hurt? Iowa basketball sucks. This is only the third time since Lute left that Iowa has seriously challenged for the B1G championship. It is Iowa basketball. It is awful. One thing is consistent. There are too many Iowa kids on the team. Look at the great teams under Bucky, Ralph & Lute. Iowa kids were few & far between.

Well that might have something to do with the fact that the title was there for the taking and Iowa disappoints yet again. That said, yes the program has a hex over it. Lack of talent, injuries, choke jobs, coaching, players getting in trouble with grades or the law....you name it.

If Iowa could have consistently locked down the state's best players, they would have been far better since Davis took over in 1986. Iowa not getting the best instate players has plagued this program since the Davis era.

It is really tough to get so close given the difficulty of Iowa's early schedule compared to Indiana's. I'm trying to be positive. Three of the last four losses have been on the road;@PSU, @IU, and @OSU. Everyone of those losses were winnable games with two minutes to go. Iowa just can't make the plays at the end of games, You could point to coaching, players not executing, or a bad call. I think all three were elements in today's lost. While I'm frustrated the refs didn't call the play when Uthoff was run over at the end it should not have come down to him shooting free throws to tie the game. Maybe IU can lose two and Iowa win out.

Exactly. Iowa controlled it's own destiny, but the dream of a Big Ten title is all but over now. God I hate February.

Ever since Davis was let go, every season that starts out great ends in a melt down. 2000-01, 2001-02, 2004-05, 2013-14, and I think we can add this season to that list now, too. Then there were the Lick years in between - there was nothing there to p!$$ away in those years, and Fran's first couple.

2005-06 was the only big season I can think of since Davis where the team didn't melt down... But then NWST happened.

1992-93 was looking good... Then Chris Street.

Ouch.

Man, what was I thinking, believing that Iowa would be a 1-2 seed? LOL @myself.

Iowa hoops have been most unkind.

Right now we have a junior class of "1". That is it. Iowa could really have used a couple more players in that class to go with the seniors. I can't remember why there is just one member. I'm sure no one feels worse than the players right now.
