70th in the country in offense. A senior quarterback. A veteran group of WRs who are solid. Veteran backs along with an emerging freshman. Two supposed NFL tackles. How is that even possible?

A Brian Ferentz offense and Tim Polasek-coaches OL will do that to ya.

First you have to credit Michigan and Penn State for having good defenses. They essentially caused a precipitous drop. Then you have to look at turnovers and penalties in the two losses. Penn State scored off of both of them.

From my observation the real weakness is the lack of a quarterback that is a threat to run and any effort to call one. There has not been a designed qb run called in the last two games, I'm not counting quarterback sneaks. The defense has to account for 10 players rather than 11.

After watching Iowa vs Michigan and PSU and others...I am almost led to believe that Iowa is "tipping" the plays that it runs. It is similar to a BB team studying tendencies of a MLB pitcher, picking the pitch signs of the catcher, and waiting for what will come. It happens over and over.

Even if he doesn't run, sidestepping the pressure and making a pass is what top level QBs learn to do with enough experience. We have a statue for the defenses to tee off on.

You’ve been around long enough to know the answer to that. It both starts and ends with “K”.

Pedo State knew multiple times last night exactly what play we were running, and the LBs and Safety pointed it out and absolutely smothered both plays. Almost getting to the ball carrier before Stanley could hand the ball off.

This dynamic is troubling and will affect the scores of most games.

BF needs to get his best guy working on this 24/7.

You almost wonder if the opponents are laughing in the locker-room after the game...can you believe it, they are so predictable...hahaha

They were laughing before, during, and after the game. A new nickname for Nate, "Sandbag Stanley"

Brian needs to have him work on quick sidestep moves this week to avoid the rush, they should have plenty of time, they don't seem to practice the plays much.

Iowa needs to find an offensive identity... and I’m sorry but it’s not throwing the ball 40+ times a game.

I know our WRs seem to probably be the strength of this offense but there is just far too much that can go wrong when you attempt a bunch of short passes. Holdings, sacks, interceptions all can be drive killers or worse.

I know the run game isn’t producing much as well but we just have to stick to it. It might be tough sledding at times but we have to stick with it and then have the play action play off of it. I’m not a huge Nate basher but he’s simply not good enough to be throwing the ball 40+ times and neither is our offensive line.

The interior of the o-line isn't very good and BF can't scheme around it. And when he does dial up something that works they can't execute.
