Masoli Cleared to play

Actually Shane I didn't like it when Paulus used it. But that is the current rule and Paulus set the precedent for it to be applied in this manner. The only difference was that Massoli had pled guilty to a couple of misdemeanors and had been kicked off the team. However, there isn't anything in the policy to account for either of those conditions.

Accordingly, if the NCAA made a decision based on those concerns, it would be ex post facto. Sucks, but it is what it is.

I see where you're coming from CH...hug it out? It's late on a game eve, no one's gonna see it...c'mere...

Quick one arm man hug. Good.

Reading that article on Massoli it should be interesting watching him this year. He is either a victim of a string of amazingly bad coincidences, or he, Roger Clemens, and Lance Armstrong need to start a twelve stepper called denial anonymous.

Yep, that did it...I'm good.

I still can't believe he managed to avoid Pac-10 defensive players with ease, but a PO'd frat boy had no problem at all catching him!

The frat boy caught the other guy, the receiver, who witnesses said had all the stuff with him in a truck. That guy wasn't very productive on the field.

But more to your point, I was amazed watching Pac Ten defenses blow containment on this guy.

The NCAA is a joke. If he were in the NFL, he would have had to serve a suspension.

And Ole Miss loses to Jacksonville State in double OT on 2 great plays by the true freshman QB!

That freshmen made an AMMMAAAZZZINGGG throw on 3rd and 15, against that defensive line that was a great achievement.

Look I understand only wanting to watch sporting events in-which involve players with "character" you respect, but your not being honest with your self. I mean, look at how you describe your objection to watching sports. "...hard to give a flying kucf", what does this say about your character?

Lets stop pretending we know who the players are by bored journalist or simply police logs. People make mistakes and athletes get put under a microscope. I'm not saying I think Masoli is role model but I don't really know the guy.

I enjoy watching sports, if there is something stupid a player does on the field then lets talk about it, for everything else, leave that up to our justice system or his head coach.

Pretty sure masoli has had no less than two, and perhaps three, felonies reduced or dropped.....I get it, we have the best legal system money can buy.

might want to read more about Massoli. Dude did not have good legal representation, ever.

He was dismissed from the football team, therefore he couldn't play. He was dismissed because he was involved in criminal activity. For him to be able to back door the system and be able to play is a shame. This guy shouldn't be allowed to play. He got his education which is great, however it's a privilege to play the game. A privilege he shouldn't be afforded any long imo.

I agree and I think it is sweet justice that Ole Miss lost today. Nobody should feel bad for them and I hope they lose every game. Here is the thing that I have not heard anyone talk about...who is to say he doesn't bail from Ole Miss as soon as their postseason fate is decided...that is what is wrong with this policy. Say Ole Miss goes to a bowl and it is an early one, does Masoli continue to go to class or participate in finals? If not, then this policy needs to be seriously looked at.
