My whole point is that people are sleeping on Maryland. I said something similar about them before the season started. It's good that we have them at home, but that apparently doesn't matter as much as I thought it did.
Regardless of last night's result, Maryland is going to be a very tough game to win for Iowa. Athletically its a mismatch. Hopefully Iowa can overcome their coaching staff and get it done.

I’ll take both Maryland and Purdue over Iowa. NW perhaps as well.

They've beaten Texas 2 years in a row now. Texas beat (at the time) #22 USC by 23pts and just beat #17 TCU by 15pts.
If MD didn't have all those injuries on offense last year, they would have finished a lot better.

These teams certainly have it in them to give Iowa Ls.
I think at least a 75% chance we lose one of these, @minny, @Indiana, Northwestern.....the annual lose to somebody we should not.
In the win column as long as no major injuries:

I said in a post last week on upcoming games that it depends on what Maryland team shows up. They have speed which can be a problem for Iowa. Do we put middle lbkrs on wideouts in the slot against them, that is problematic.
If they dont have a great offensive line I like our chances but if really good maryland comes to kinnick the hawks could lose or it will need to be a shootout.
I still think the hawks are in control of everything in front of them except for the PSU game.

The thing about that game is it's at Purdue, and if their only loss is to Ohio St from this point on, we might be in trouble.

Yep.....I think they have enough in the tank to do it to us there. They showed that with Boston College and it is at there place. It is the type of game 7 or 8 Kirk usually drops.
