Wow. I saw it but didn't catch that it was Koehn. Boy am I blind.Just hit a 58 yard FG, then CJ throws a sweet pass but WR can't hang on to the ball.
He made that FG and 3 PATs (one of them after a 5 yd penalty, making it 38 yds), sucks that he missed the 47 yarder. I really think if he went 2/2, 3/3 he would have a spot. Zimmer and Shurmur have said twice now that I was a dead heat between the two, but since Koehn will sit next week that miss probably cost him the job (as long as Forbath doesn't miss in the last game). I would think Koehn would have a shot at being picked up somewhere though.Just hit a 58 yard FG, then CJ throws a sweet pass but WR can't hang on to the ball.
Yeah really wish he'd have made that 47 yarder.. But that kinda summed up his career at Iowa too. He could kick the crap out of it but he'd miss a makeable one with little pressure on him. He's clutch when pressure is on though and that's certainly worth something for kickers. But you gotta be money 45 yards and in. There can't be any wiggle room there. He made that FG and 3 PATs (one of them after a 5 yd penalty, making it 38 yds), sucks that he missed the 47 yarder. The side angle that they showed of how much room to spare he made it by was impressive as heck... And that should go down as a turnover for the WR not an interception by CJ.... Geesh (I know by the book it isn't but it's too bad) CJ put that ball right there just a timely hit that the receiver didn't hang on to and if it's going to bounce up like that over the middle somebody usually ends up catching itJust hit a 58 yard FG, then CJ throws a sweet pass but WR can't hang on to the ball.

Can't pull any punches when the 53 man cuts are this Friday. It's all business now.CJ got drilled by Jaleel later in the game
His big leg is what will probably get him picked up by someone if the Vikes cut him. I'm a Vikings fan so I follow the team pretty close, and I want Koehn even aside from the Hawkeye connection. Forbath missed 3 PATs last year and with Blair Walsh going off the deep end before that, Minnesota needs a kicker like Gary Andersen again that they can count on when the pressure is on (except for the 1998 playoff game to go to the Super Bowl...we won't talk about that).Yeah really wish he'd have made that 47 yarder.. I loved the reaction of some of the 49ers that they showed after his long one. Making 58 yarders with plenty of room to spare is head turning..

Saw that. There was a Hawkeye reunion out there between those two teams.. Wish announcers would have mentioned a little more about that. They briefly did when talking about CJ throwing to Kittle but they had more chances after Koehn doing what he did and then Johnson playing. He was in the backfield a few other times besides that play he hit CJ on too. He'll make that team tooCJ got drilled by Jaleel later in the game

i seem to remember that Keohn had problems with missed extra points his last year at Iowa.

I think you're right. At first, I thought maybe the holder did not get the laces turned all the way but it looks like that lineman may have got a finger on it. You can also hear it if you turn up the volume. Just think how far that ball would have went without the tip ... probably over 70 yards.I could be mistaken, but that 58-yard kick had a lot of funny movement on it. If you look at the replay closely, doesn't it look like the defensive lineman could've possibly tipped that ball? That would explain the funny motion on the ball as it traveled through the air. I thought the same thing last night when I saw it live, but no one on the broadcast said anything about it.
