But how many close plays were we from being 44-20, instead of 34-30, or even 24-40? The being that we went through 5 seasons of losing those "close" games" Kirk is reinvented, to a degree. He deserves credit for that. But he isn't all the way there, yet. I still believe he made personnel mistakes this non con by not playing J. Smith with the 1's against Ill St and UNT, instead of waiting until the WUs game. And I think he's made some strategy mistake: ISU (end of half), not clocking the ball with .24 left against Pitt and not kicking 20 yard fg to tie WUs at 3-3. Do folks realize that if Stave hadn't fumbled, WUs probably scores to go up 13-10? And we didn't even attempt fg in 1st qtr on the road. Don't get that at all.
I don't know your political views, but if I HAD to guess, you focus a ton on what happened from early-2001 to early-2009 rather than the present day.
<<Do folks realize if Stave hadn't fumbled...>>
And do folks realize if Wisky had been called for an OB/late hit on CJB...?
Or do folks realize Wisky benefitted from some questionable PI calls?
Do folks realize if Koehn hits that first FG, we'd have been up 13-6? Add in the other 4th-down fail, and if we score, we could've been up 20-6?
Do you realize if Texas belonged to Mexico, Drew Tate might not have come to Iowa? Or if Canada was still part of "The Crown", Tevaun Smith could be playing "non-American" football?
Dude, give it a rest. We're 5-0. We aren't going undefeated, we have just as good a chance of NOT winning the B1G West as we do of winning it. But, good Lord, why LOOK for ways to post miserable stuff or complain about stuff from two seasons ago or who did/didn't play a given position at a given time?
Kirk is Kirk. Not a mystery, there, sport.
