I'll take his running, without a doubt. One of the disturbing elements, though, is contrast Gronowski's performance with Shaggy when he was forced into action last fall. The circumstances could not have been worse for him, and he put up anemic numbers too, but man, he LOOKED like a quarterback. The footwork looked solid, pocket presence, he let 'er rip, nice touch, showed poise, etc.
In contrast, almost everything looked out of whack from Gronowski. Maybe I could somehow chalk up a couple horrific (yet routine) passes to some kind of nerves/yips combo, but the footwork was awful, he panicked in the pocket....they tried to let him warm up to it by having him throw on the run, which he also doesn't exactly seem to have a knack for (reminded me of Christennsen on those, like where you can see his athleticism but comes off more as a thrower than a touch passer).
It's all pretty odd. QBs aren't typically the players who get overly anxious and shit the bed so badly that they can't settle back down in order to rely on their skill set. At least not after 55 college starts or whatever. I sure hope he is fine moving forward. If he's not though, the Kinnick crowd is going to have an especially short leash with him later this month. Which, if he is struggling with pressure and confidence, won't likely help the situation. Fingers crossed - pulling for him.
