Marcus Paige

Paige is going to be a tough get for Lick. This current coaching staff has yet to place a ball player at Iowa. Marcus' sister is going to Wisky to play ball, so I would guess that the Badgers may have an advantage.

If a kid can play, he should be excited to play at IOWA, there is plenty of time available. Now...., does he believe the coach and his way of playing/coaching will be something he can buy into, will it make him better, will it be fun, will he be a part of a winner? Thats really the key to it all.

Didn't look like there was much fun today except for Minnesota. Most kids who can play want to go to a program where they can use their talent instead of being held back by an outdated system that takes two or three years to learn.

Marcus looked pretty content watching the game, but Austin had the "I can't believe we drove six hours to see this crap" look on his face.

Paige is another Jason bohannon..he will scarf up all the free tickets he can get from Iowa and then he will sign elsewhere.

At least when Todd blythe knew he was planning on going to ISU, he turned down tickets from the Hawks.

I'd wager we'll have a new coach by time Paige is a freshman in college.

Yeah, it's about all any person can take anymore. Three years of crap results and nothing but excuses. You can't go anywhere in the work world and put out negative results for three years and expect to keep your job. Lick will probably get another year after this, but anything less than 16 wins next season should be grounds for firing IMO.

Bohannons did not like Alford which played into him not choosing Iowa. And Lick and staff have been putting in alot of time on Marcus for those that think Iowa is not recruiting him hard. Marcus likes the Hawks and wants to see them do better. He does not have a favorite at this point. And before you ask me my source, I've known one of the Linn Mar coaches for about 30 years!!!

I'm going to go so far as to say we NEED to have Marcus committ sooner rather than later. I have no idea about him or the dynamics with his recruitment, but the staff must have the locals stay. Very happy to hear that the staff is all over him....hopefully he likes what they have to say

if they didnt like him they shouldnt have taken the free tickets multiple times.

no class.

Linn Mar wins at CR Washington last night (see article below). A couple of college coaches from the area were at the game (McDermott and Jocobsen). I guess it is possible there were others. There is nothing specific in the article about who they were there to see, but it was probably Marcus Paige. In the background of the picture in the article is Darius Stokes (Greg's son).
