No. I'm saying he's overrated by the Iowa fanbase, and that bringing up his 2 years on the bench in the NFL does not make my statement any less true.

It helps if you read the thread in order instead of just jumping in the middle to score points or whatever:

1. OP claims Marble and Stanzi have things in common.
2. I said one of those things is that the Iowa fanbase overrates them.
3. Another poster used Stanzi's NFL job as a counter to my statement.
4. I said his statless 2 years in the NFL haven't proven me false.

Stanzi got into the NFL because of how good a coach Kirk is. He would be starting in the NFL if he had been at Iowa the same time as Greg Davis.

Because Davis is a great QB coach or because Stanzi would have thrived in his system?

You're right - that was you. Thought it was someone else so you can ignore #5 I guess.

And surely you understand it's hard to provide concrete evidence of whether or not someone is overrated since it is a subjective topic and all. But hey, that's the internet for ya. The short version is he gets credit for many wins at Iowa that had much more to do with a dominant defense and running game. Many Iowa fans were touting him as the best Iowa QB ever but I think he was #3 in Ferentz era.

Check out threads from before the season started. Lots of 'Marble will be leaving to the NBA after this season' type of talk.

...mocking Roy Dev for even thinking he could go pro. I read nary a post which claimed that he could actually do it. If anything, Devyn has been unfairly derided by this fanbase. In fairness, it was in response to the ill advised NBA talk, but you don't see a lot of #4 jerseys out there.

??? I bought an autographed Stanzi rookie card on ebay just to hedge my bets that it becomes a Hawkeye treasure. I stated on this site that I think Devyn is 33rd best Hawk of all time.

Would someone who doesn't think much of Devyn or Stanzi do either of these ridiculous things?
