Luka Garza Reviews Iowa Official Visit

Welp, I think this just shows that Fran knows what he is looking at. If anything it just makes me more confident in the recent Dailey signing. Fran doesn't care who else has offered, if he KNOWS the kid can play he is gonna bring em in.

We are in good with several good bigs for the 2017 class, I'm confident Fran will get one of the following to sign (Williams/Nunge/Garza)

The fact that Fran is still so heavily recruiting for the next two years does give you the feeling Conner may be a walk on and/or someone else is likely to transfer.

Dean, re: the Daily signing, I am happy we got him as he does look very athletic and the type of player that fits what Fran does with wing players. My disappointment is strictly not getting a big or a true pg with the scholly. Would you agree? I think that is the general consensus around.

This makes sense. Although, I don't know who might transfer, other than, Ellingson, perhaps. But he's sort of at the point of no return if he decided to transfer to another D1, if he plays at Iowa this season. He's used up his RS and 3 of his 5 seasons. So, he'd have to give up a season to transfer, unless he goes to a lower level.

He's the only potential transfer I see, but not until after this next season.

The Iowa basketball staff looks at all future possibilities. You never know if there are going to be transfers, ect. Whether McCaffery walks on or not might depend on who the player who wants to come to Iowa. One thing this basketball staff has shown over the years is that they are hard working and pretty good in all facets of the game. I can see where his son would want to tell his future children that he was a division one scholarship player. Fran might not want to take that fact away from his future grandchildren. Of course, if they could get the right player that could mean a lot of $$$ for the McCaffery family in coaching incentives.

I understand this. I too wanted a PG, but a PG wasn't to be had that Fran felt would help us. So he brought in a wing that I think he really really likes, so I'm good with that as well.

Fran made the right call in getting the best player available, instead of settling for a lesser PG. That's how winning NFL teams think when they draft as well-best player available and go from there.
