Tim Lester is rolling, especially with Gron's legs. But, what may be the most important part about the offense, is that opposing teams can no longer scheme to or stack the box. Lester spreads them out to cover options, which creates large running lanes when the QB gets them into the correct call. This is why you see such wide lanes at times, especially on the QB runs. Couple that with a great O-line and that is a recipe for success. Long gone are the days of teams plugging the box.
If you look at Iowa's team and the makeup on offense, there really isn't an alpha stud receiver. They have a WR unit that is productive as a whole. Wetjen is being utilized more which is terrific. He's finally getting some touches downfield. The TE position is kind of non-relevant this year sec to some injuries or the scheme, but they are there as an option when needed.
It's the diversity and Lester crossing up the defenses that is most impressive. Having Gron as a legit offensive threat is key as it really creates a dilemma for opposing teams. Also, Gron is doing a great job of getting Iowa into the correct plays after surveying the field.
