Adam Rittenburg ranked his top QB's in the B10. Of course #1 was that kid up in Ohio who cant stay in the pocket every snap and runs for a 4 yard gain every pass play. But #2 was our very own Ricky"The Manzi" Stanzi. Rittenburg says it was a close battle between Ricky and Scott Tolzien, but his 18-4 gave him the upper edge. Rittenburg also wrote," NOT TO MENTION HE'S ONE DAMN FINE AMERICAN". GO STANZI, AND GO HAWKS

Stanzi could be the Big Ten's #1 QB if he figures out how to bring his 4th quarter performances to the other 3 quarters.

If he could bring his 4th quarters to the other three...

Well, that and cut down on his interceptions. Having a running game will help all that, which I think we will have this year with Hampton back. Not that Robinson and Wegher didn't do well, but they took almost all year to do what Hampton was able to do in like six games the previous year backing up the #1 RB in the country.

For all of Robinson and Wegher's talent, Hampton will probably be the better RB when all is said and done. He has better vision and power than either of the other RBs.

That said, a 1, 2, 3 punch of Wegher, Robinson, and Hampton will help keep the RBs legs fresh, and give defenses a lot of different looks. If Wegher is here this year that is.

If the O-line can get the running game going quickly, Ricky's reads are going to be much easier, and Iowa will be able to take more of the downfield passes that he throws so well. If the running game is effective, like I think it could be, the Hawks will vastly improve on offense. It could be scary... I keep thinking of 1990 and 2002, except with a better secondary on defense.

If he had half as many picks as he did last year, he'd be on every heisman watch list. I think if he throws under 10 INTS this year, we'll win at least 10 games.
