Louisville football gets a transfer from Iowa?

I wish him the best...I think he saw the talent coming in and figured to get out while the gettin's good.
 
Will this transfer open up a scholarship? I know of a offensive/defensive lineman from the Cedar Rapids/Marion area that is waiting for a scholarship offer from Iowa. Was wondering if this may help get that ball rolling. I was guessing that Iowa was holding on to a scholarship waiting for Henderson to make his decision.

I think the Hawks are still running pretty close to their limit for this season...if I remember right they were looking to only bring in 17 (before transfers) and they're sitting on 19 right now.
 
I figured that they were close to their limit. The kid is trying to wait patiently for the Hawks to come forward with an offer. Hopefully the Hawks will come calling. Saw the kids highlight tape today. It was pretty impressive.

I'd like to see them offer Drake Ferch from West Marshall as well.

This isn't basketball. Players don't know the talent that is coming in and they don't leave because of it. They may leave because of players that are already on the roster but not players coming in
 
If you'd rather play for Louisville than Iowa...wow. Although he might actually be good enough to play for Louisville.

Not sure what any of this meant...only basketball players recognize other talented players? Football players can't see the writing on the wall that they're going to ride the pines? If you had added your statement about players already there to my statement about incoming talent, I could see your point...but to completely blow it off in favor of only yours is probably wrong the other direction when the truth is probably part of both.

HawkeyeShane--was trying to use the quote function, but I guess I was erasing the QUOTE statement. Thanks for the advice.

Yeah, but it was advice that acutally worked. To update the kid that I know, he had a school from out east in town today to visit his Dad. They are going to Stanford next week to see if they have anything to offer.
 
We were at 85/85 but programs always over sign for this reason. If the three juniors leave I'm assuming we'd be 81 out of 85 and have four to give. Some may be to walk on players or gray shirt commitments.
 
For the kid I know, they are talking a grey shirt possibility. Since he is projected on the OL, I was wondering if the Henderson situation may lead to Iowa making their decision......but that may not happen for a while. The family is planning for weekends in January to perform their official visits. They went out to Philly for the Army/Navy game. They came away very impressed.

Shane, I don't see an offer to Ferch in the future. I think he will end up a 1AA player either at UNI or at South Dakota State. SDSU has a former West Marshall player on it's coaching staff and have been looking at him pretty hard. I do think if given the chance he could contribute on a D1 team.
