Looks Like Rudock Is LOSING the Mich QB Competition: Will He Quit Again?

Why do people act like Rudock owes us anything? He dedicated four years of his life to the Hawks, never said or did a bad thing, and left with a year of eligibility. Between Vandenberg's senior year when everyone was begging for Rudock to come in, and the time he left was nothing like a Cinderella story. It was ups and downs and frustrations and mediocrity and bad coaching and he never got frustrated or went off on the coaches or the fans or anything.

It's way too early... Till he's put their helmet on once practice starts in August I don't think any of the speculation matters. Of course he's behind. He's not Russell Wilson. There's a reason he's as highly thought of as he is. From what PT Morris has put out there on film I'd say it's safe to say even if he beats out JR to start day one JR will end up playing and I bet he'll end up playing more then Morris. What kind of melt down will this site have if JR has a good year and they go to a big bowl game?
Much entertainment will be had.

They did not "yank his scholarship and say he wasn't good enough". They switched coaches and Beathard saw he wasn't the best fit for the new coach's system, so he jumped on KOK's offer.

LOL. The new staff at ole Miss gets a verbal from Bo Wallace. Two weeks later CJ visits Iowa and commits immediately after the visit. He had a committable offer from Ole Miss at that time like Bennevetti had from Iowa in Jan last year......staffs move on, especailly new staffs.

Most of the UM "insiders" think Rudock will win the starting job. Morris is physically more talented but erratic and inexperienced. If Morris were to win the job, then it's a win-win for them in having an experienced backup. But, I'm more interested in Beatherd's and Wiegers development this summer. Hope they both come into camp sharp and ready to take steps up their play in fall camp.

Only the ones trying to trash Jake thinks he owes us something.

I would say little to none. But I want to ask, are you saying you think JR will be the overwhelming deciding factor if UM goes to a "big bowl game?"

Thanks for confirming what I told you. They changed coaches. They did not tell him "he wasn't good enough". They were going to implement a system he was less familiar with.

I stopped being interested in Jake and his QB future when he quit on our Hawks. I'm just hoping that CJ is ready to be the field general this season. GO HAWKS!

Rudock is gone. I wish him all the best at Michigan but he is irrelevant for Iowa now.

I argued all last year that Beathard was the better QB (and Ed Podolak has been saying it for the past 2 years). Barring injury, CJ will prove it this year

Can I get the Ferentz-hating philosophy majors input here? Rudock is labelled a quitter because he left and all, even though we never really liked the guy after we saw him play. But Derrick Willies is some kind of martyr because he left the team, but then made some weird and contradictory statements about his family, then his old coaches and family said some other things, then he finally decided to leave Iowa City, then commit to Mizzou, then commit to Texas Tech, and that is if he ever gets to Junior College. But the Ferentz-haters want me to "like" Willies while having some kind of grievance with Rudock, even though we saw what Rudock was and what he really wasn't.

kinesiology=physical education- you, my friend, are a moron.

his senior bio. from the university website lists him as a microbiology major along with pre-med designation - all the pre-med designation is is that you take a subset of courses as a requisite for entry into medical school - organic chemistry 1 and 2 along with lab, i believe are examples of premed requisite classwork. pre med is not a degree, just a subset of classes.

now, the iowa biology department doesn't have a 'microbiology' degree - in the biology department there are three different degree paths - which leads to the next point......microbiology undergrad falls under the medical school umbrella. two separate schools.......

interdisciplinary studies - i have a biology degree from iowa - and advanced degrees from iowa as well. if you do really well, you can create your own path of study - per department head 'permission'. for example, one could select coursework from two or more separate curriculum and set your own degree path. maybe he did so with microbiology and biology - that certainly would be interdisciplinary studies.......

Owned.....now love it or leave it Iowalaw!

I really like this post.

Jake Ruddock? I had forgotten all about that guy. I have been trying all summer to get a new perspective on the future of Hawkeye football. I wish people would quit dredging up all this crap that has no bearing on what the Hawkeyes will do this coming season.

bob - it's not that i don't like him - i don't like anyone who spreads bs about people - this guy does it intentionally - hasn't a clue - he showed that again in this thread - for someone who has a username of 'law' the dude really embarrasses himself - couldn't argue himself out of a wet paper bag.

LOL Imported is the same guy that proclaimed Jake was transferring to Michigan because he would be going to their great med school in the fall. He assumed that by playing football, he was automatically admitted to their med school (foregoing the MCAT process and everything else). He believed that football players take a med school course load while on the team.

Embarrassingly, had he gone to college, and actually been a science major (like he claims), he would know that kinesiology is, in fact, the phys ed/fitness department. From Michigan's kinesiology department website:

Kinesiology Programs

http://www.kines.umich.edu/programs/health-and-fitness/physical-education

It's always the most ignorant that call posters names on websites like big tough guys. Sorry Imported, Jake is not interested in dating you, no matter how much you love him and his 3 yard passes.

No I have little clue as to what to expect out of Michigan this yr honestly. However if they do and JR is their qb for it you know darn well these message boards will be going nuts. Look at whats gone on so far and summer practice hasn't even started yet. There has been more chatter on JR then CJ for peats sake. Weather or not Jake is putting up monster numbers or not is irrelevant. Say Jake puts up the same numbers he did this last yr. That's all it would take to send Hawkeye nation into a tizzy if he did that and they won say 9 plus games and go to a Jan 1 bowl game.

i will be rooting for both Jake and CJ this fall to do well. Especially when Mich is playing against the Big Ten west opponents.

I want Iowa fans to be proven right that CJ is the better QB, and I want Jake to prove that he can start on most BigTen teams anyway.

the only exception of course is if Iowa and Mich end up in the BTn CCG, which I am not too worried about because Mich won't win its division.
