Look at BTN history, ESPN Negotiations

I agree that it is good to have a hardarse as commissioner, who has been called the most powerful man in college sports, btw.
Shapiro did fess up at least and that is rare, but seems like he has an ego bigger than Delany's even.
In the end, Shapiro did the Big Ten a huge favor, and Delany has guided the league thru the pitfalls, and the end result is the Big Ten is in a great position.

Saw the Welcome to Nebraska show and they were breaking down the addition of Nebraska for football, and Dinardo conceded that the Legends is the deeper division, but says that the addition of Nebraska will push the league even harder recruiting wise, and result in the Big Ten being the best football league in the nation eventually....optimistic..but I will take it.

Well, the alignment could be re-adjusted after a few years; no way possible to make everyone happy. What names would you have used? I guess you could just go east/west or north/south and let the chips fall where they may.

Adjusting down the road would be an admission that they screwed up in the first place, so I don't see it happening. The whole "Big 4" looks a bit hilarious with everything still on the table for punishment for OSU.

And yes, simple East and West would be fine. At least everybody can remember that; which division are we in again?

2 frigging pages and no one has brought up how f'ed up it is we dont play Wiskey every year? Dont get me wrong the 12 team thing is a good idea and I am all for it. The names meh. But really, I grew up listening or watching us bang heads with Wiskey. No Iowa/Wiskey = EPIC fail in my book. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it. That was THE game when I was watching the Hawks when I was a kid!!

Unlikely. The best HS football is played in the Southeast and Texas, the best players are from there, and thus, the best teams will continue to be there. The shiney, red N on the helmet can do little to counter 30 years of demographic shifts.

The alignment is fine. Yes, we don't play Wisky every year, but there were going to be some sacrifices to maintain competitive balance. The last thing we wanted is for our division to become the Big 12 North. I'm ok with how it was set up. Now, the names of the divisions is a different story

People really need to stop complaining about this. Yes, it sucks. The Wisky game is always my favorite one on the schedule too. But I also accepted that we would have to make a sacrifice or two in realignment. Not everybody is going to get everything they want. Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State did, and the reason for that is pretty obvious. I'm sure there are a lot of Wisconsin fans disappointed, too. But in a one-or-the-other decision, Paul Bunyon's Ax will always win out over the Heartland Trophy.

It doesn't matter that we don't play Wisky every year. I feel pretty confident when we go to 9 game schedule there will be 2 locked opponents. Wisconsin will be our #2.
