In Kirk's countless years as a the head man for Iowa. I have rarely ever been so dismayed and disappointed as the absolute shit show of the last 2 seasons. I have never seen such a precise failure to capitalize on what arguably were strong Iowa rosters.

We appear to be a team that is fading away from their own established culture. Sure I have been mad enough before to curse Ferentz up and down but in the back of my head I always had faith he would be back stronger with a new team. That day has officially passed and for the first time I no longer want to see Kirk lurking the sidelines. I don't even care if a new coach struggles worse. I am just now finding myself wanting anything new.

Good grief Iowa football has turned into Chinese water torture. I'm out.
 
I was willing to wait til 2020.......I am not sure I can wait that long anymore.
 
He took a gamble with giving Brian the OC job, it has backfired. Many long time KF supporters are turning.

Always been a KF guy, but this level of incompetence on offense(whether it be playcalling, development, in game strategy, or preparation) can not be defended. There has been zero improvement on the Oline and our receivers have regressed.

We lose the backbone of our defense, and one if the best pure corners in years. We lose a dynamic playmaker in Akrum, but he wasn't used how he could have been.

There will be no significant changes though.

I am not hopeful, even with a seemingly easier schedule. Another 6-7 wins maybe, but possibly worse.

Sigh. These last 2 games have really sucked.

I am not sure I have the patience to let him re-invent himself for the 4th time. 2018 has to be at least 9 wins.

Well recruiting and coaching are two entirely different skill sets and Kirk used to be good at the latter.

The worst part for me is it is not just the offense. The special teams is the worst I ever remember and the defense is not as good as it should be either. With Josey Jewel and Jackson the possibilities for defensive creativity are endless. However we just insist on playing base and letting backers match up on RB's, TE's and WR's.

I just couldn't accept this until now. The walls have been eroded. I can no longer in good conscience defend the joke I see out there in the house that Nile built.
 
Kirk gambled the with future of the program by trying to advance his son. Gambled and lost. A certain game this year showed the potential this roster could have, but that potential was thrown away by this staff yet again. It's really going to suck losing to Nebraska, a team which its coach has completely lost.

I’m actually to the point where I’m willing to wait until 2020 to watch another Hawkeye game rather than turn to the same shit show every week thinking things are going to get better.

KF isn’t going anywhere. If he wants his son to be the next coach he has to swallow his pride and let him and KOK run the offense.
