Lol forecast

The receiver knows where he's going...the defender does not...advantage Offense/WR on a wet field.

The QB needs to be able set his feet, grip it, and throw it in the rain. If only we had a QB with large hands, great running skills, and a cannon that laughs at rain and wind. Oh, then there's that anointing thing from God too that comes in handy too. if we only had that guy.

It looks to me like the rain isn't coming until Sunday. Looks like cloudy with highs in the low 40s.

Rain hurts Iowa more than Wisconsin since we actually want to pass the ball. Though given how many times Wisconsin coughed the ball up last weekend, maybe it will lead to a couple of favorable turnovers.

One more thing... Gordon relies on quickness and cuts. With the ground wet, it's much harder to make cuts. (I think everyone will agree that Weisman does not rely on quickness but more on power.)

I remember watching the DIII playoffs where Central played Augustana at Rocky Stadium in Rock Island, in '86 I believe. My brother-in-law was an O-line starter for Central. The wife and I had to brush the snow off the bleachers to sit down. By the end of the first quarter you couldn't really tell the teams apart because of the mud, and the field was a mud bowl from 20 yard line to 20 yard line between the hash marks. Central's defensive quickness was lost due to the mud and Augustana's massive O-line (averaged about 305 from tackle to tackle) had their way. One big run that broke outside for Augie won it for them; other than that it was a "punch in the mouth" for both teams.

Hope we can do to Wisky what Augie did to Central back then.

I was with you until the "massive O-line having their way" part.

It's the wind. If it's strong, we can pretty much shut down our offense for two quarters unless we get turnovers.

This is is the biggest game in Jakes career. Hope he triggers whatever got into him against Northwestern.

Agree that the wind is the key....if it is below 10mph, Jake can throw all 4 qtrs. and Iowa has a punchers chance.

Field turf has eliminated any edge that rain would ever give Iowa.....since it was installed, Iowa struggles at Kinnick. Big mistake.

The last time I was this excited for Hawkeye football was the Ohio State game....2010? Rain, snow....bring it, I ain't leaving. Go Hawks, On Iowa.

"Sloppy weather and field conditions were no match the Wisconsin Badgers' efforts Saturday afternoon at Northwestern's Ryan Field. Unfortunately, slow starts have started to become the norm and not the exception for the Badgers, and on Saturday, Wisconsin fell to Northwestern, 20-14. Continuing with the sloppy theme, Northwestern capitalized on Wisconsin turnovers. Four interceptions and one long missed field goal led to 17 Wildcat points. "

...........as some in the media reported it on 10/4.

I say let it rain.

P.S. Too bad we don't have a real grass field as we could deploy some of Fry's supposed tactics of encouraging the field crew to make sure the turf was watered appropriately for certain teams/games.

Or forget to mow the grass for a month
