Lindy's Sports Predictions

Just a magazine I picked up to take to the pool and figured Id share what they say. They have Iowa ranked as the number 3 team in the big ten behind OSU and Wisconsin. They are really high on Wisconsin and have them rated as the number 1 offensive line in America. But they also say if the line develops for Iowa then a Big Ten championship is a reasonable goal.

But, they also have the Iowa Defensive line rated as the number one unit in the country and Clayborn as the number one DE. Sash is also rated as a top ten safety.

Overall ranking is number 10.

Really don't see placing Wisky over us. Do think it will be Iowa and tOSU battling for the top spot in the league.

I say this every year...we need to continue to see Wisconsin as our nemesis and biggest competitor for a major bowl. When we beat them, we usually go someplace nice. They are a good benchmark. Coming back from behind to beat them last year in Cramp Randall was priceless. My voice was hoarse for a week.

This year, again, it will be a war with them. We will prevail against the red menace.

I have always viewed Wisconsin as our biggest rival. We have been in battle for the number 3 or 2 spot in the big ten. (3 before, 2 now that Mich is so down) Plus the their last two coaches came from Iowa as a coach and a player. We play the same style of ball as well. Thing is Wisconsin wants no part of it for some reason. They are already wanting a season ender with Nebraska. I don't understand why this rivalry is not bigger then it is.

I didn't look up the all time record between Iowa and Wisconsin, but as I recall Iowa is one win ahead of Wisconsin in the series. It doesn't get much closer than that. A very good rivalry!

Seems that Iowa and Wisconsin have a lot in common both on and off the field, making the rivalry all the better.

From 1970 on Iowa has owned the series against Wisconsin posting a 26 and 11 record versus the Badgers. I believe there is a couple of ties in that time as well. So while the overall series is close, Iowa has dominated the series the last 4 decades.

Also, just noticed they have DJK listed as the top deep threat in the Big Ten. Pretty cool.
