I think the star ratings for BB are pretty accurate- far more than FB because of the exposure to the players playing against each other in AAU and less impotance to the additional physical development you see with college FB players. The only team that I can remember making the final 4 without a lot of top rated players in the last several years was George Mason a few years ago. Look at this year's top teams, and don't give me UNI and Butler. They are both good teams, but would not be ranked where they are if they were in a top major conference with several league losses. You can consistently win at mid major level without top talent, and sometimes catch the rainbow for a year that way in the big time conferences, but who has consistently been a contender without top talent at that level?

Well, we know Lick personally visited Brust before and after the comittment. I know from a Linn Mar source that Lick has been to see Paige in person as well. That is all I am aware of, but it would seem to go against what 1/2 glass empty Howe reported.

I don't want to be unkind, but frankly, Howe doesn't know. I have come to believe that he really has it in for Lickliter, and I am not sure why but it might be that he has very limited access to the program. But that is speculation on my part.
