Lick strategy...

I haven't seen this discussed but wanted thoughts. When Michigan made their run in the first half our lineup was Lickliter, Bawinkle, May, Gatens and Brommer. My problem isn't that all three bench guys played but why do you play them all together? This has to be the worst offensive team ever put together in the Big Ten when the game wasn't already decided. Plus that five overall is not good defenders.

Ultimately probably didn't cost us the game b/c Fuller came back in and got it going but still very frustrating.

Man do we need bench help for next year.

You also probably noticed that after the timeout after that run, the starting five were back in. I think he would have played those five all the way if Cole hadnt had foul trouble.

That was the normal time frame to insert 1 or 2 subs. Not sure they have put all 3 in at same time before. Lickliter only plays 1-2 mins per half if Payne is healthy and not in foul trouble.

Lick strategy: Milk Iowa for millions of dollars and have a bunch of lemmings come on here to defend him so he doesn't have to defend himself for a very poor job.

There was no excuse for the above 5 in the OP to be playing at the same time. It was the worst 5 that have probably ever been on the floor for Iowa bball. I would rather see him use a TO than to run that group out there again any time soon

I am supportive of Lickliter but I think it was a game in the last couple weeks I had on the radio.. and I was stunned that Lick, Brommer, and Bawinkle were all in the game together. I don't see any reason why this should happen... and I am one of the more supportive/positive people on this site in regards to coaching....

Lick does a pretty poor job of paying attention to the details that he can execute to help his team be successful. His plans seem to all be set in practice and he sends them out there. This was a game good coaching wins.

Lick needs to have his assistants remind him of a new rule...''cannot have lil lick,Wink and Brommer on the court at the same time''....cardinal rule from here on out.

I agree that lineup was out there for only two minutes but you had to know that Michigan will go on a run against that group. Small, unathletic, only two players that can score at all.

As far as foul troubles, at that time we had no player with more than one at the time.
