LeVar to Michigan State

This will probably hurt Iowa in the short-term, he was clearly an exceptional ST coordinator. But if you are on the "LeVar Woods as the next head coach" bandwagon, I think this move makes it more likely. Woods gets experience as an Associate Head Coach (which apparently he wasn't going to get here with Wallace in his way), and he gets experience at a different place and with a different system. That is important both in building his resume, as well as setting him up for future success as a head coach.

I hate to see him go but probably a good thing if he wants to be the head coach to get some experience in a different spot. I really hope to see him at Iowa again hopefully as Kirk's replacement.
No I don't see that happening. If Fitz starts winning at MSU, which you know will happen, Woods will then get a head coaching job somewhere else (not Iowa). This one hurts.

I see this as a very good thing in the long run for Woods. This will help him when the Iowa job comes open. Not saying he's going to get the job, but it will help his resume and coaching skills. Good luck LeVar!!

Why is Wallace getting such favorable treatment??? WHY.
I think it's a possible scenario that Beth/KF have had conversations with Levar that if he is interested in becoming a head coach it would be beneficial for him to go to other places and learn. It's not like Kirk stayed in one place and in fact it is really common in coaching to move around. Woods has actually been outside the norm for staying on one place for so long.

As for favoritism with Wallace I have no inside information or have not been involved with any of those conversations. Maybe this is as far as Wallace is wanting to go in terms of coaching ranks. Maybe this will set Levar apart from Wallace? Levar has had a chance to leave before as had Wallace so we don't know what has been discussed in their private meetings.

How much longer is KF going to coach at Iowa realistically? I don't see them extending his contract so 2029 at the latest in my opinion. Do you really think Woods would have that opportunity at a school at the level of Iowa in that period of time if MSU Is successful? Maybe once he leaves Iowa he may want a break. He said in the presser he had been in Iowa for over 40 years. Maybe the time away will make him want the Iowa job even more? It was obviously a difficult decision and I am sure he and KF had some heartfelt discussions.

Well, good for him I guess. It seemed he was locked into ST. So at some point he ws going to move on and this is the time.
