Let's talk Penn State

I haven't watched too much but they don't seem really that great.. Not bad by any means...but the ranking more of a product of what they have done the past few years. Temple win was a decent win...but they did not look very good in doing so...especially in the red zone. Royster looked good this weekend but before that he hasn't looked the shell of his former self(granted one game was against Alabama...but the other two he should have rolled).

Anyone follow them any better? Is Royster's slow start a result of bad line play? From what I have seen and being at home I feel like we should win by 17.

Let's put it this way. It's not the same Penn State team the Hawks played in Happy Valley last year. But it is still Penn State.

The Hawks better come to play and I'm 100% confident they will.

Stubborn offensive scheme that we match up with extremely well. Decent running backs and decent wr's, but nothing that really scares you. Nothing like Criner and AZ's wideouts and AZ's RB.

Their defense will be solid against the run. As long as we make our fg's, and score at least 2 TD's we should be fine and win easily. We can't give them any free points via turnovers or special teams or we could lose this game.

bad line play. He had over 180 yards yesterday but in the previous games combined he had like 110. They started out slow last year and had line problems as well. I fully expect they'll be much improved by this saturday. Iowa can't afford to take any team lightly, there's no margin for error because of special teams play.

Penn State is going to come in as an underdog and is still dangerous. I think they aren't as good as they were the past two years, but hopefully we come ready to play. We have them, then a break and then Michigan. Sincerely doubt there would be any sort of a need to 'look ahead'.

If we play good, clean football, I think we should be able to handle the Lions next Saturday. Good defense is going to be key, as it was the last two years we played them.

It will be close in the first quarter, but the end result will be comfortable. We will feel in control the entire second half. Bolden is athletic, but very inexperienced and his throws don't often hit the mark. Corn, Beef and Sash.

I really feel like they being ranked, a night game and the Iowa players hungry to get back in the spotlight will have the Hawks plenty pumped and ready to go. Also, having Kirk as your coach, they being Penn State and being ranked is as much needed to obviously not look past them. I predict a 21 point win.

I got to see some of the game yesterday. I think they have a decent run game. Average passing game. Average defense.
I would at least, expect Iowa to get a 2 TD win over them next week.

Hold on guys. The Hawks are 3-1 so far this year. The only good team they have played ended bad. We can beat PS but need to play good and not take them for granted. They are still PS and can beat anyone in the conference if they play well. This will be a good test for the OL. If they play well, next week at this time we can say to everyone else WATCH OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Penn State has some very nice players at WR and RB. The young QB Bolden is still developing. I think the biggest thing to note is that Penn State lost one of their starting offensive lineman against Temple.
