Let's take a look at past Rose Bowl Queens & their Courts, Meow!

Maybe I'm getting too old. These girls look so young. But that '82 girl? WOO-HOO! Hubba bubba.

Would a Foster Farms Queen/Tommy Armstong joke be in appropriate here?

Not at all. On a serious note. As a fan, I'm going to really enjoy this new rivalry. When you are still finding ways to hate on the Huskers in a Rose Bowl Queen thread, that's deep-seated. Would be great if the players shared that (Iowa kids playing on the NU roster and Nebraska kids playing on the Hawkeye roster will definitely help), the games would be even more epic.

Nebraska benefitted from (in no particular order):

1) A coach willing to do anything to win (Osborne)
2) The Big 8
3) The Big XII North

It's not like the Big Ten West is exactly murderer's row (cuz it's certainly not - just look at what it did to our SOS rankings this season), but it's certainly strong enough/deep enough to frustrate Little Debbie for years to come.

Don't know about that. The West had a better crossover record that the East this year. I'm not saying the West is a juggarnot but I think it is a bit underrated while the East may be a bit overrated, IMO. I mean NW is sitting at #13 and Wisky is ranked still, I believe or on the fringe. Illinois & Minney were formidable this year. The East has the names and Mich St is one coaching change from going back down. The East has Penn St, but Penn St is kind of like Nebraska and hasn't been relevant on a consistent basis since joining the BIG.

Don't need no Rose Bowl Queen, I'm married to a Queen.

I believe the standard response that I've seen when it comes to someone discounting a team's success based on their opponents is

"You play who they put in front of you" :D

Nebraska definitely was the beneficiary of a different time, as were several other teams.
