BW comes to rejoin the team now. What would you do? Not just because JH is done for the year, I would welcome him back making sure he understood that he would have to earn his way back to the playin field which would take around 3-4 weeks of good solid practice time. What would you do?

I think I would tell him to come back and see me in January.

Exactly! For his own reasons he made his choice. There are other players that are ready to go. Give Misters Coker and Johnson their respective shots.

I'd have open auditions in the Kinnick parking lot before letting him play this soon. Without knowing exact circumstances behind the situation, you can't just show back up at practice, grab you pads and tell coach, "I'm ready, now!" At this point, no way he plays this year, even if he was at practice today. By the time I would even consider letting him play, it wouldn't be worth it to him. Redshirt and move on to next season.

Have every member on the team write "yes" or "no" on a piece of paper, and then turn it into the coaches. If anyone says "no," then I say don't let him come back this year. Only way they should let him back is everybody was on board.

I let him on the team if his school progress is in good order, no question.

That said, he is 6th string RB and has to earn his way back up the ladder

1 A-Rob
2 Paki (when okayed)
3 White (when okayed)
4 Coker (when okayed)
5 the other FR RB, whatever his name is
6 Wegher

No way. He made his decision during fall camp. He sits until next year.

I don't care if he'd be last on the depth chart, allowing him to return to the team now would set a very bad precedent for the future.

We can say "What if" all we want. He is in the middle of a **** sandwich right now, and I doubt we will ever see him in a Hawkeye jersey again. Time to let go of the past and look Corker and White.

i guarantee the captain would let him come back and drop him to the bottom of the depth chart. i believe he's said a few times that he's got an open door if he wants to come back.

doesn't mean he has to play this year. and i think we have proved this year(and several others) that if a running back wants to play for you, you let him. since, ya know, we never have running backs get hurt...ever

We need the help on special teams! There was all the talk of him moving to DB at one point, so lets see how he hits.
