I agree. I mentioned to my friends at the game that the NW players on the sideline were pumped up jumping and yelling when big plays for them happened on the field.
Fitz takes calculated chances, he is not afraid of a failed play as it is only football and he feels in control anyway.
Fitz knows how cautious Kirk is so Fitz can blitz, pack the box on defense and shut down Iowa's offense because Kirk wont dial up many home run deep passes.
It is infuriating for Iowa and the fans but he does have Kirk's number.
Fitz takes chances on offense yet he has a decent run game and a good controlled passing game. He makes sure he has a good running QB because that keeps drives alive (ala CJ Beathard).
Fitz learned from Barnett who built the program up and also as a coach under the head coach who tragically died that you are the underdog so you have to take chances.
We all know how well Kirk and the hawks do as underdogs so maybe they should get that chip on their shoulders for every game.
Would love to see Kirk take some more bigger chances on deep throws, a reverse pass, more counter plays.
