Let it ride?

The line is now down to Iowa +3.5 with the positive injury report today from KF. That +7 opening line was too good to be true.

I got it at +4.5 but put equal amount down at +170 to win outright.
The Hawks win, I win. Here's to a great season.
I think they are going to be up to it.

I've done pretty well so far this season, but I start with such a low budget, that I said screw it, the Hawks win then I've got some breathing room.
I've been betting 25 a pop or so, but the season is only so long and a bowl trip isn't going to happen at $25 a pop.
So if I'm going to let it ride, I put it on the Hawks.

Win or lose, i think I would have stuck to what has been working for you to this point.

Four and the hook is not a slam dunk for Iowa to cover by any means.

No it's not.
It was time to make a move and have some faith, or not.
I just have had this feeling our defense is the real deal. 3rd in the nation in points allowed.
I said before the year started we could be a top 5 defense and I still believe that.
I also think this game plays right into Brian's (and our O's) hands. It's exactly the type of game he should absolutely shine.
We win and we will be knocking on the door of a top 10 team. I think we are that and more.

I mean, Iowa has won 5 / 6, now. But this is Jimmy's job on the line this weekend. And Michigan has more talent outside than anyone Iowa will face this year. Shae Patterson is terrible, and they don't have a running game. It will come down to if Michigan is willing to throw enough jump balls to Peoples Jones away from Ojemudia, and if they can get the Hawks off the field on 3rd down. ISU couldn't win that way, but Michigan has better receivers.

I feel like Iowa is going to get ambushed in Ann Arbor. It's a scary game -- Michigan has more 4 and 5 star talent than Clemson. If Iowa can drive the ball methodically and keep everything in front of them on D, maybe they can pull it out.

You have bigger cajones than I'd have.

We have won up there exactly four times in my lifetime and I'm 54. And I doubt we've covered in most of the losses.

Obviously I hope that you're correct on all counts.

Iowa wins in Ann Arbor since 1965.....1981, 1990, 2002, 2010. Am I missing any?

I used Hawks in a 3 game 6 pt teaser when they opened at 4 1/2.

Hawks +10 1/2
Purdue + 31 1/2
Baylor + 8.5

My best bet of the week is Purdue. Opened at 24 1/2 and has already 27 1/2. I used it in the teaser above but I put an individual bet as well when it got to 27 1/2.

Penn St coming off huge win. Purdue looked bad. Public will overreact. Plus Penn St has Iowa, Mich, MSU looming in their next 3.

You know PU's qb, and Moore, are both out, right?

I took a small 3 game parlay with Purdue covering 31 1/2 also.

It's not cajones.
It's, faith. Can't really explain it other than that.
Something just feels right about it.

the thing is that only 4 games into the season, we already have two head-to-head comparisons between iowa and UM. RU and MTSU and both were home games for each of us. we shut out RU and so did they. their offense got healthy against RU. we totally dismantled MTSU and UM struggled for a good portion of the game against them.

based on that, this game is even, which would make the +4.5 a logical bet, imo. going for the win is all faith, baby. but, i'm with you on this game. iowa is poised to break out on both sides of the ball. we have 4 wr's with touchdowns, 3 rb's avg over 50 yards per game, with a home run hitter just waiting for that first fastball down the middle. i have felt that the iowa staff (outside of the ISU game, perhaps) has been holding back and hasn't opened the offense or defense, yet. i mean, no way we've faced 4 OL's that we've dominated, and AJE doesn't have a sack, unless he's just playing base right now. UM is the opposite. while they've beaten both teams, as well, they are in the "trying to figure out" mode. gonna be tough for them to continue trying to figure it out and then adjust during the game when iowa hits them with things they haven't seen yet.

so, iowa has a chance to win. no way i'd say they WILL win. but +4.5 was a good take.

And Iowa hasn't even really had a set secondary to this point. Young guys are getting experience and snaps.

Same can be said for Iowa's O-line.
