Lebron - the bad and the great stuff

I put this in another thread but :

Here is just another reason I do not feel any sympathy for this spoiled brat of a 10 year old in a huge man's body.

If you were watching the game last nite with I think 6:20 left in first qtr (I made a note of the time because of his actions) an okc player throws a cross court pass while crossing the time line. The ball is a little high and wide toward center court and the okc player junps to receive the pass and YOU SAW IT, lebron jumps to try to steal the pass, runs into the guy and smacks his arms.

Whistle, foul, and then 30 seconds of whining protestation by the mvp, the so called best player in the world.

You know what, his action to steal the ball and run into a player has been a foul for 80 years and it is now.

Lebron needs to grow up and shut up.

But then at 10:40 left in the 3rd lebron grabs a long rebound off missed heat shot out by the foul line moving away from the basket and throws a no look pass around his body right to a teammate under the bucket for an easy two.

I have to say that was one great basketball play

Glad you opened a new thread for that gem...

You are welcome.

When I was at the bar listening to music and having a brew last nite I happened to catch some of the game including those two parts. I said I was going to start a thread based on his whiny actions, which I did.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm a huge Lebron fan, but IMO to call out Lebron the way every other fan reacts after a bad call is a bit weak. How many times in the fourth did Kevin Durant (who I also like a lot) pout to the officials in the 4th quarter after not getting a call. Fact is, the NBA is full of whiners that complain about every little thing so I don't think it's justifiable to continually call one out when every other superstar in the league does the same thing. I think the problem is that for far to long the superstars have got away with things over and over again and once the officials tighten things out it's time to complain because the countless number of times they've done it in the past it was called the other way.

Oh I agree with you and this makes the NBA almost unwatchable for me, the whining and the flopping.

My gawd, did you see Bosh thumping his chest after the guy fell on him to create a foul. It wasnt like Bosh did anything special, I think he got a lose ball or a rebound, fell down, and then the guy fell on him.

I am sad to see the nhl playoffs over with because of the pure joy those players show and the gritty determination without all the whining. There is no whining in hockey (but maybe a flop very seldom occurs)

To be fair, I didn't really read the OP. I'm sure it was riveting.

I guess my take is when you (in this case the NBA) pamper superstars and grant them special privileges your creating the very same monster that people believe to be ruining the game. I think the more the "big" names get the calls that "no" names see over and over on a nightly basis then things will eventually take care of themselves, and the whining will hopefully disappear.

I said this in the other thread too but,

I am not gonna lie, sometimes he does whine. It is kinda annoying that some players protest everything with that same dumb look like injustice has just occurred. I'll tell you what though, it is genuine. Because in their eyes, injustice has occurred.

My rebuttal is this,

You can make yourself believe anything, especially when you want to when. You can honestly not feel fouling someone or taking an extra step because you're so caught up.

NBA players whine. They have for generations. It is the nature of sports that are primarily dictated by the actions of high profile individuals as opposed to a team working semi-anonymously. Ultra-successful individuals, both in sports and in the rest of life, often struggle with dealing with failures, even small ones. You think LeBron even holds a candle to the whining of John McEnroe? Have you ever seen Tiger Woods on a bad day? Just be glad LeBron's whining when things don't go his way doesn't lead to people getting fired like it does for many corporate executives.

btw you dont have a ******* clue about what lebron was talking to the official about. it had nothing to do with the foul they just called on him. gotta love it when clueless people go out of their way to complain about **** its clear they dont understand.
