Lay off the players.

Name-calling of players and wishing injuries upon them is pathetic and embarrassing.

Jake is by all accounts a great kid. Did he struggle today. Of course. Should we have seen what CJB could have done. Absolutely. Does he deserve the personal attacks. No way. He's a college kid doing his best. Maybe he's not being coached up well enough.

Regardless the head football coach makes the decision who plays. He IS fair game.

Couldn't agree any more, people calling for players to get hurt is disgusting. The fact that the players started with quick scoring in the last two games but slowed down in each game, makes me believe it is all coaching and not being able to make adjustments as the game wears on.

If someone mentioned they wanted JR to get hurt that is pathetic.

I wanted to see a lot of CJ today, I wanted a big hawk win today, when JR was having a bad time and getting sacked I thought CJ's mobility could help, but no way I want to see any player get hurt Hawk or opponent.

The players made a lot of mistakes today, maybe the early start across a time zone, but they started fast and couldnt sustain it.

They went east. The game was later than normal for them on the clock, and the same time as always for their inner clock.

The team we saw early against Indiana is the exception, the crappy team the rest of the time isthe rule. They are who we thought they were.

Let's get one thing straight, these are not kids.

true. I also agree with those saying its dumb but at the same time, to play Devils advocate (not about wishing injury.. There's no justification for that as we have no jameis Winston) these kids are getting an education paid for and know what playing D1 come s with..

For me the product on the field points back to the coaching staff... Not the players. These are the kids this staff recruited and coached.

Nobody should be wishing for injuries, there is no place for that.

That being said, it's not all coaching. BF wasn't out there getting beat like a drum against a bad Maryland defense, but our O-line certainly was. That's part coaching but that's part players not hitting their assignments.

ahh the old... feel sorry for the players post.

I love it when someone posts this annual drivel..

I understand why Miller doesn't want people bashing players on his message boards... I follow that logic.

But feeling sorry for Div 1 football players is pretty funny....

They feel sorry for you - you will never got the chicks, beer and fame that you could only dream of.

seriously makes me chuckle.

Drivel, champ?

What's your point again exactly? I am referring to multiple posts about wanting JR to get injured so we can see CJ. Over the top.

I get the frustration believe me. But should be directed at the HC.

You the last to get picked in gym class or something?

I haven't read any posts asking players to get injured.

I agree that's silly... but don't waste your time feeling sorry for Division 1 football players.

And you don't get fame/women/free beer from gym class.

I was following the game thread yesterday and I believe that is why Jon pulled it before the game was over. One, maybe two posters were calling for Jake to be injured. Others were in agreement or making light of it.Multiple posts in "Game Thread Redux" refer to it.

While the rest may be true ... I think I had more beer at the university of Iowa than any player in history not named Chris Kingsbury.

Carry on.

These are 18-23 year olds, most of them playing their last football. Cut em some slack.

The Coaches, on the other hand, deserve every bit of criticism they're getting. Ferentz in particular... he looks like a guy who is past his prime and completely unwilling to grow and change. He makes the same mistakes over and over, and shows no intent to make adjustments.

In most companies... that guy gets shown the door.

When skill players seemingly enter this system and regress, I can't help but actually feel sorry for them.
