There is still luck in college football. You throw a pick, but the dlineman gets called for illegal hands to the face... that's an example of luck.
You face an opponent who misses an extra point... that's luck.
You opponent drops a wide open quick slant and you intercept the deflection and take it to the house.... lucky
You fake a fg on the road against Florida and the lateral isn't done properly but the ball bounces up perfectly and hits the kicker in stride so he can run for the 1st down... luck
Your oppenent snaps the ball over the punters head... luck.
Anything that can be statistically proven to generally happen less than 10% of the time is luck in my opinion.
If you think the teams that win the BCS title didn't receive some luck during that given season you're nuts.
There's luck and there's bad luck and often times it's the difference between great season, good seasons and poor season for school like Iowa. When were mediocre talent wise and catch the breaks we can have 9 wins... if we don't catch the breaks we'll see 6 to 7.
