How about fouling before the ball is thrown in with 2.6?
Or fouling at all?
Where is the coaching?

Fran lets Gesell handle the ball with the clock winding down before half and it NEVER works. So as a result Fran lets Gesell inbound the ball with the game on the line and it DOESNT WORK.

There's a common theme here.

If he didn't have the ball in his hands or wasn't in bounding the ball, he would just get called for a moving pick. He always finds a way. Sometimes all it takes is some missed free throws. Sometimes you have to miss a wide open shot from the free throw line 2 foot left and turn the ball over twice in 5 seconds. No matter how tall the task, he will find a way.

Why can't we run that play where, if you're name isn't Peter or Jarrod, you pass it to someone whose is.

It was the ol' "Throw it to me, I'm open!" play. It works great in Rec League ball. It only breaks down when no one is open - of course, no one plays defense in Rec League ball, so that was a fundamental problem applying that play to the last seconds of a B1G tournament game.

Seriously, how does Uthoff not get the ball in that entire last possession? He doesn't see it before Gesell gets stripped and the ties it up (luckily). Then, he was no less open than Uhl on the inbounds pass - plus he was coming towards the play, not running away from it. Incredible. Let your star win or lose the game.

It was such a great play Fran doesn't want to give it away so they can use it again. Seriously using 3 timeouts to set up the last shot and having none left incase you can't inbound the ball was brillant! A lob to your center 30 feet from the basket with 2 seconds left was brillant, just brillant I say.

Maybe they were supposed to, but the players started running around about 3 seconds before the ref handed the ball to MG.

yeah that is their "trick" play. It worked against Indiana we just missed the shot. But like most normal coaches, I'm sure Illinois watched film and coached the players on how to stop it. They adjust. Something Iowa does not seems to do well. The only hope now is that opponents not familiar with us won't be able to adjust as quickly.
