Larry Drew II

To sit out a year and then have one more year of eligibility?

Not sure that's what Fran needs in his rebuilding efforts.

Fran needs players. Doesn't matter where they come from, he just needs players.

But Larry Drew ain't one of them. Ever seen him play? He is horrible. Got benched for a true freshmen this year who isn't that good himself

There was a 6'9 guy at West Virginia who was upset about playing time and walked off the floor. Might want to take a look at him.

North Carolina Tar Heels' Larry Drew II leaves team, source says - ESPN

Maybe Iowa should give this guy a call and see if they can get him interested... I know he had struggled a little at UNC but he could be a great addition to Iowa

Yes, it is always a good idea to go after a chemistry killer who has one year of eligibility left. Don't forget that he has to sit out all of next season as well. It is never a good sign to see a player leave in the middle of the conference season.

everyone on this God Damn site is so negative about everything...

no one can post an opinion without getting blasted for it..

No offense intended, but when you post something in an opinion forum you should probably expect to have it challenged.

There are certain people on this site i wont name specific people, but no matter what you say good, bad or otherwise they always have to chime in with something to make you almost hate being a hawkeye fan... there seems to be absolutely NO unity among us fans.. we in the end all love the same College and all want to see Iowa sports be successful.. we aren't the in the SEC where we can go over the schollie limit year in and year out, and right now. it just seems the basketball team could use bodies..

i dont know about you, but having watched the Iowa/MSU game, how many of the guys at the end of the bench actually have enough talent to make it on the floor? my guess is probably 1 if someone gets hurt...

Sideshow, if this is your idea of being blasted, you must be pretty new to the whole forum scene.

Wonder if this means North Carolina will be taking another PG. Someone mentioned on a different site that he was reading Roy Williams is starting to look at Shaq Stokes. He didn't link to a source, so who knows if it is true, but wouldn't that be a kick in the junk, takes Marcus Paige, then seemingly rides in and steals what could have been Fran's under-the-rader PG prospect.

+1, this is pretty mild compared to what I have seen, and Ive only been here a year.

yes, this is mild... but i have been on this site for sometime and every post i make... gets torn apart by seemingly the same people.. yes im taking my frustrations out now but its kind of irritating

I generally try to be respectful in my posts (other than to three libs over in the Politics/Controversial forum.) I guess my reaction to your original post was that while he may be of above average talent since Roy Williams got him to a storied program like UNC, I'm not sure that sitting out a year and playing a final year helps Fran much.

Not a dumb idea, though.

Agreed, not a dumb idea, but I think Frans time would be better used chasing other leads.

Seems more like a Fred recruit to me. Ames, the Island of lost basketball players.

Funny as I was saying this earlier... but using the island of misfits as the theme. FRED IN A BOX and the island of misfits. I mean really? How many players can they have that were kicked out of other universities? Does Pierce still have a year of eligibility left? Can he enter the state? With VA and NC losing players, FRED IN A BOX better be ringing that bell. I love that "NBA Mentality" they have going on over there.

Why am I such a misfit, I am not just a nit wit.

Lost basketball players that will win games though. You guys can laugh now b/c you know you won't be laughing this time next year

Good one. From what i've been told, the team chemistry reads pretty poorly. But that's to be expected from a bunch of castaways.
