La Russa- Thin Skinned

I meant that they are going to yell at La Russa cause they are Brewer's fans and the Cards were playing the Brewers and Braun, a Brewer's player got hit. Wasn't stereotyping all brewers fans.

Also, I agree with your second paragraph.

My bad, I misread it a bit and thought it was a shot at the Brewer fanbase.

I can see how it read that way. My initial post was to suggest that we all know it was intentional, but the calling it ok to hit Braun cause it is a stinger versus being at the head. I'm not saying the pitches at the head were intentional or not, the one I saw looked as it got a way high, I think the in was intentional not the high. Don't like how La Russa handled it

Um, suspensions usually follow intentional bean balls. No manager in their right mind is going to admit to throwing at a batter on purpose. People who know baseball know that it was on purpose, because it's part of the game, it's an unwritten rule. But they can't admit to doing it without risking suspension.

Understood completely, but don't make that big of a scene about it if your LaRussa. My problem with his hole tirade was, as you said everyone knows it was intentional, so he should have left it at that. Instead he continuously went back to the pitch that hit Pujols, which IMO was high and in, but did get away, and plays off the fact that it took two intentional pitches to unintentionally hit Braun.

LaRussa embarassed himself and anyone who follows the game, because everyone including the reporter knew exactly what had occured and he makes a scene and gets that worked up because he was continually called out for doing it, but tries to justify what occured and kept going back to how Pujols got hit. LaRussa needed to be a man and either fess up to what actually occured or move on to another question, he did neither and that's on him for for letting things escalate the way they did with the reporter. LaRussa's actions and the way he handled himself in that situation made him come off appearing as a Dbag. IMO the reporter won the battle and got exactly what he was looking for.

No, I am saying if he gets credit for the wins, and he should, he should get credit for the losses as well. There is a lot of politics in professional baseball and that can play a role in certain things. I realize there are worse managers, many in fact, in baseball.

I am not sure how often you watch the cards. Every game is on TV here in St. Louis and he does and says things that are head scratching at times.

Yes, he's been managing for 32 years and is still around. There are plenty of politicians who have been in d.c. for that long, many of whom have no business being there.

I watch the cards about 120 games a year. I get the MLB app on my phone that let's me watch and listen. We may just have very differing opinions of the team and manager. Let's leave it at that. Go Cards.

Dude the reporter was the one egging him on. Get your **** straight.

Did you even read my post? Of course the reporter kept egging him on, because LaRussa didn't like the fact the neither the media nor the any baseball fans are stupid and refuse to believe the crap coming out his mouth about having no intention to hit Braun. Like I said he could have simply ignored the questions or declined to answer them. Instead he gets worked up because niether the reporter or anyone else believed the line of crap that was coming out of his mouth.
It's the reporters job to come up with a story and what better way to get your story and 15 minutes of fame then continually call a manager out when he's feeding you a line of **** and essentially insulting your intelligence as well as the intelligence of anyone who watched it. Bottom line is all he had to do was not take the bait and he never appears like a dbag.

Where is this line of questioning all year? There should be all kinds of mini-tirades. EVERYBODY knows it was intentional, because that's part of the game. It's not a story because everyone already knows, so there's no reason to try and get a manager to just come out and say it.

Managers insult fans' intelligence all the time when it comes to this. Because they'd be stupid to say that they beaned a guy intentionally. In the old days, before you got suspended for that sort of thing, I'm sure it was different. But you can't admit to that. The reporter should have known better.

As predicted....two team race in NL Central....buh-bye Cincy, buh-bye Pirates...

The fact St. Louis, (even while losing Pujols for awhile and Wainwright the entire year), is in the mix is no surprise......thank you TLR!
