RT @CEmmaFOX: Kyle Prater has been granted a waiver and will be eligible to play this season for #Northwestern.

This is HUGE news for Northwestern. This makes them a contender in the division now IMO. Now teams can't just focus on Kain Colter they have a legit threat at WR now too. He was a former #1 recruit and could end up easily being best WR in Big Ten by season's end. Not saying NW wins division but does give them more of a chance against MSU, Michigan and Nebraska for the divisional race than before.

This blows. Sick of waivers for players all over the country. Prater should have sat for a year. NW is another football factory like Bama now.

One player makes them a contender in the division now?!
A dude that is coming off two straight injury-filled seasons and hasn't proved anything on the field yet?

If he stays healthy he is a game changer. He's 6'5", 210 WR. Teams can't just focus on stopping Colter. For Iowa, this is going to make it more difficult. Iowa already struggles with NW, on the road, mobile QB (with poor DL could be disaster) and add a stud WR to the mix. NW is more of a "dark horse" contender in division than Iowa.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion. However, your opinion is wrong! :D

So Prater got the waiver because he wanted to play closer to an unidentified relative?

The NCAA must have relaxed the rules for getting waivers,at least with USC players.
Another USC player got a waiver to play immediately at ND,simply because his dad left his job with the 49ers and took a job with Purdue?
WTF?

So youre saying he'll be NW best reciever and will help them contend for the division? is every ball gonna be thrown to him and he'll be unstoppable? Who cares, im not worried about him. He wont do ****.

...I still don't know how two options makes NW a better offense? One of those options being Kain Colter as a QB? Lol..

I mean, that offense was gonna be a mess without him. Certainly, one WR does not a team make.

And let's not even discuss their defense.

Ryno be trollin' again..

What a joke.

So NW now has a total of two threats offensively and threat #1 simply has to get the ball to threat #2. Not saying they'll be a pushover, but don't see this impacting the top of the division.
