Competition looked suspect but was most impressed with his passing and decent jumping ability. Wants to dunk which along with Cook should be a welcome change from the missed layups of the current players. Will not redshirt if Dale isn't ready to play. I think he'll get p/t as a freshman.

Honest to God, I think he had more dunks in that first clip than woody has had in his career.

If Woodbury had been going up against 6'3" guys like Kreiner was going against in this video, he'd have had a lot more dunks.

Really encouraged by what I see from Kreiner but the cynical side of me wonders if he's just Kyle Meyer II. Don't think he is but can't help wonder.

It's man against boys in those videos so it's hard to really judge. What I do like is he seems light on his feet for his height and he can handle the ball. He gets up and down the court really well.

Height of defender doesn't matter when you need 2 steps and a wide open lane to get the ball over the rim.

Woody faced the same competition in high school and I don't remember a Woody highlight video full of dunks, especially not dunks like Kriener put up.

I had to make sure I wasn't full of it. I see some good things along with some falling down... Not too many dunks, though.

It looks like Adam has mostly regressed offensively in his time at Iowa. But most of that is because in HS he played against people 6 inches shorter than him so it was a little easier to score.

I see why at first blush one might see Meyer part 2 but what I take away from this is he's not just a body out there. He goes up with two hands in traffic hard. That I love regardless of the competition that's something we don't have right now. He also has a feel for the game when handling the ball and passing. They had him in the middle of the court against a full court press. Look how he turned put it on the floor under control and made the right pass. I think he's fairly raw sure but I think 2 or 3 yrs from now he'll be a heck of a player for us.

Woodys lack of leaping is unbelievable. He blocked more shots on that short video than he did his whole career at Iowa almost.. How the program wasn't able to put him on some kind of training system to increase his explosion and jumping off of two feet is beyond me. He did improve his free throw shooting and some other aspects to his game over the years but to not have the ability to get a rebound under the hoop and go right back up and dunk it is beyond me for a kid of his size.

He dunks everything around the rim. I see less missed layups in the future with him and Cook.

People are constantly complaining about Woodbury and dunking. I watched him play in person a couple of times his senior year of high school. And it was obvious he was never going to play above the rim. He uses his fundamentals and basketball IQ to compensate for not being an above the rim guy. That's how he averages over 8 rebounds a game IMO.

Side Note - I watched 2 or 3 Oak Hill games last year. Don't expect to see Fleming dunking either. Perhaps he can but he didn't in the games I watched...just laid the ball in when he had the opportunity.

It's hard for me to envision Kriener as a RS after seeing those highlights. It's not just the dunking. He's very aggressive and isn't a string bean. He has a solid frame. I won't be at all surprised if Kriener and Cook share time at the 5 with Uhl and Wagner at the 4...and 5 as needed. Baer will probably split time between the 3 and 4. We sure do have a lot of talented players to choose from next year. A lot of it will come down to which of the young guys know how to guard someone IMO.

Yep. Highlight videos make anyone look good but I'm cautiously optimistic. Like him better than Pemsl at first blush.

I think Cook has to be given every chance to fail next year. By that I mean throw him in the fire and let him get his minutes and figure it out on the fly and bang around with the big boys.

I laughed out loud at that triple team...

But seriously, good hands, catching post passes in traffic and good finisher. That'll be nice

Maybe a bust but maybe a Bruner too. I like players who go strong to the basket. Was sealing players in the post but also getting out on the break. They say he's a good shooter too. Upgrade from what we have now.
