He can shoot it! Coach said he will play more. Does anyone think he could bump someone out of the starting rotation? Pemsl? Moss?

He is cutting into their minutes but I don't see him getting a starters role this season.

But who saw this coming? I thought Kriener should have redshirted to work on his strength.

Competition makes everyone better. Good for Kreiner coming in and making some noise. It will push the others to up their game if they want to keep their minutes. Who knows if he'll start, but the way Fran substitutes, it doesn't really matter. Primary example - Baer.

He is just starting to show what he can do. I hope he continues to improve as we go forward. It will be interesting to see how Fran utilizes him as the Hawks evolve. On a related note, Moss has stagnated the last several games. Here's hoping he catches fire again soon.

Who was the kid that played for Lick and just absolutely lit it up for like a 4 or 5 game stretch and then we never heard from him again and then he transferred? Palmer?

I'm not ready to take Pemsl out of the starting lineup but I'm starting to think Kriener has more long term potential and could see this change in the future. He's a couple inches taller which helps with defensive matchups as well as rebounding. He has a much better mid range shot and showed his ability to shoot the 3 which certainly isn't a part of Pemsl's game.

Pemsl is pretty crafty but teams also have scouted him better and defenders are staying on the floor better than early in the year. He's got the heart and passion and certainly better than expected but is just undersized.

This is the correct answer.

David palmer. He transferred in from a not so bad program if I remember correctly.

Yep. Looked it up. It was Seton Hall. He went off for a little stretch and I'm fairly certain Lickliter never played him again for no apparent reason.

Kriener won't be a starter immediately, no. But he's going to be getting more consistent minutes per Fran, especially with Uhl injured. We'll see what he does with them. With 4 freshmen starters, no lineup is set in stone.

I like Kriener better than I like Uhl.
Ultimately yes, RK could have more potential than Uhl. But next year we'll still be pretty young. Uhl would be the only real senior. In that capacity he might be useful as a stabilizer- similar in a way to what he's become this year. He can do a lot of things because of those abilities many thought gave him scoring potential.
