Just keeping in line with the other "Crow" thread. I was pissed Fran played Kreiner early as I really thought he needed a redshirt based on what we saw in the first ten games, but he is really impressing lately. He made a little move inside against OSU, spun and laid it up softly with one hand and I swear he looked like Frank Kaminsky for a second...nice little reverse pivot with a soft touch. He can hit the 15-17 foot jumper, so you have to bring a big out to guard him...and that is huge. Forcing defensives to defend all areas of the court opens everything up...watch the game again last night...there was no one sitting on the rim waiting for guys to there.
Cook, Pemsl and Wagner need to hit that 15-17 foot jump shot consistently...and it will open things up so much more on offense.
I know we are going to take our lumps occasionally as others have mentioned...but a year of growth and strength is going to be huge for these guys. I don't think we take a lot of lumps next year. The other thing is that we have shooters...love Gesell and Sapp, but they were inconsistent as hell and teams could sag and stop penetration. This team with Bohannan, Moss, Ellingson, and Baer are going to keep getting better shooting threes. The way this is looking the two bigs in this recruiting class aren't going to see a lot of time next year...and that's a good thing.
