Kittle Having A Good Camp

I got him on my FF team too. He and James Conner at Pitt have me looking pretty good I rolled the dice taking him in the 6th round and he's my team MVP so far... For how much longer that'll last I guess we'll see.

Bell could be back week 10. I actually think he has to come back by week 10 to enter free agency after the season.

Yeah some have been saying maybe even a couple weeks earlier just prior to the trade deadline too... I'm hoping they can trade him that'd be best for me anyway :) . I'll be surprised if he were to come back and they just welcome him with open arms and start giving him 20 plus touches right away. But it's the NFL so who knows.

Hard to predict how it will go down. I suppose it is just as likely that the Steelers say well hell if we only have you for the rest of this season maybe we just work you like a dog. Maybe 40 carriers/ targets a game. I mean if Bell plays, but dogs it it will hurt his big payday in free agency. The Steelers may just decide to abuse that weaknesses and exploit him more than ever. What do they care if he gets hurt now?

Exactly... There's two sides to the coin. If they were to try doing that what if Bell taps out and says no mas to more than 20 touches or so? They can't physically make him do it. He can say he's tired, nicked up whatever. It's really quite the predicament and needless to say the drama that is Bell isn't over yet.

Interesting to think what he might have done here in a KOK offense or the current offense, as opposed to the Davis version. Injuries didn't help matters either (only played 10 games junior year, 9 games as a senior).

More under-utilized in 2015: T. Smith (32 for 563 and 3 TDs), or Kittle (20 for 290 and 6 TDs).

That team had a great running game (182 yds/game, 4.5 yds/carry), but with an NFL QB and 3 targets who would go on to at least have a cup of coffee in the NFL (T. Smith, Krieger-Coble, Kittle) and a healthy MVB, I feel like the passing game could have been better (204 yds/game; 7.8 yds/att; 17 TD).

He can absolutely fake an injury, which is BS but there's not protocol of a team claiming a player isn't hurt when they say they are.

Yeah I think teams can fine or suspend players for something called conduct detrimental or something like that but if a player says his hammy hurts or his head is dinged how can a team doc dispute something like that in the middle of the game? So yeah if a player wants to play yet still limit their touches they probably can...

Just the hint of such a thing could cause any other GM in the league to devalue the guy by tens of millions. It could happen, I just don't see how that risk helps Bell. I think he shows up and plays ball and prays to stay healthy. That is the only way he gets that 6 year 100 million dollar deal that he wants.

One would think so.. And it certainly should. But all it takes is 1 or more teams with a big need at RB and $ to burn under their cap to think he's worth the risk... They all know he is just unhappy with Pitts management the last few years over all with how they've not extended him for what he wanted. The new teams involved will just assume if they can get him to an agreement that he'll be happy and be the Bell of the last few yrs on the field.
What'd really worry me about signing an older RB (any RB past their rookie deal to me is older) is that when you do pony up a big contract to them that they shut it down and won't give it their all anymore. Bell certainly seems to be that type....
Myself I wouldn't consider paying him any crazy high contract. For one he's an older back and for two his commitment to the team being in question to any kind of longer term deal. I wouldn't give a 27 yr old RB a deal longer then 2, 3 yrs tops. Especially one with the millage on his body... RBs take so much punishment and are easily replaced that it's just easy to see why the teams won't commit long term or big $ to them. Look no further than who's replacing Bell at the moment. Their paying Connor less then a million this year to do what he's been doing. How much more can you expect Bell to do and would that be worth 15 million or more? Seems illogical to me anyway..

I'm sure some desperate team needs a name like his to put butts in the seat. I'm guessing for some team out there the gain rationalizes the pay. If all goes well for him this year I would guess he would at least get a 5 year 80 million dollar deal. Tennessee is my bet. They need a marquee name and a RB. They also need a check down weapon to keep Marriotta clean. Bell fits what they need.

Well the Titans have Henry (who's stunk it up but he's pretty young still) and Lewis as the change of pace back. He's pretty good. So depending on Henry and if they want to keep him around or not would be what gets them in or out of the race for Bell. My guess would be the Jets. They have their QB of the future and a RB like Bell for him to lean on would be just the ticket. Bell I'm sure would be all about the bright lights of NYC so long as they show him the $. And since their young QB is on his rookie deal they should have enough to if they want...

Ya the Jets are a pretty solid idea. I just have a gut feeling about Tennessee.

Lol me too. I actually predicted Garoppolo's injury and Beathard to Kittle connections being San Fran's go to offense. TE #1 baby and helping me be #1 in my Fantasy league.

Yup he was my first TE I drafted too in like round 8 or 9. Hell of a steal. Got the same ribbing from my guys. I'm 6-1 with Cousins, Adrian Peterson, James Conner, Theilen, Landry and Kittle as my main guys. I'm laughing it up so far

Exciting to think but next year at this time we could have the #1 and #2 TE's in the NFL.
No doubt. Yet if you watch the 9ers play it feels like he's underutilized at times. The types of plays you can run with him are off the charts. He can do everything Dallas Clark did on the field and more I think. If he can just stay healthy. Easier said than done...
