I cannot stand Notre Dame. I live in St. Louis. The Catholic connection runs way deep here. Way deep. There's as many ND fans here as there are bandwagon Chiefs fans. So annoying. I wanna hate PSU. But, even as an interloper to the Big 10, they fit right in to the Big 10. It feels right having them here. Also, Ferentz is 10-8 against them.

But I take some solace. I, apparently, don't like bald Big 10 coaches who's names begin with an F. I think they both resemble certain male body parts. Can't tell 'em apart except the one wears a tie under a hoodie.
 
I'm far from a ND fan but was absolutely rooting for ND to beat PSU. There is no other program i despise more than PSU. They should've been kicked out of the big10 16 years ago.

No PSU fan here either, but I don't agree they should've been kicked out of the Big Ten. It was 2 people plus some administration who did the damage, not the players, not the other staff, not the fans. Paterno should've been in prison if he was still alive like Sandusky.

What if a couple people at your employer got caught embezzling or worse at your workplace, should we fire everyone and disband the company and wipe out all the loyal hard work you've done over your career even though you had nothing to do with it?

Maybe new management/ownership/culture etc., but the sins of the father shouldn't transfer to the sons and daughters.

But still doesn't address the question of why the players should've had to be punished for what Sandusky and Paterno did.
 
I had mixed feelings. I root for the big ten and generally dislike Notre Dame.

But... it's fun to see "big game James" Franklin lose. Tough one for me.
 
Not a fan of either team, but honestly found myself cheering for ND last night. Freeman's just too good of a coach not to like him and what he's done for the program. Franklin on the other hand, hate him and his ego with a passion and could watch him come up short in big games every day for the rest of my life without it ever getting old.

I have wrestled with that conundrum. Did PSU deserve the death penalty? Yup. But. The players had no responsibility. So what do you do? I will always look at the PSU program with disgust.

Sort of the same way with ND. Held out until the very end without recruiting “colored” players. Until they started to lose. Found religion.
