Just watched an interview with the Browns head coach. After 14 questions about Johny Foosball this was asked. "Is there anybody else besides the quarterback position that Saturday night earned a rise up the depth chart?"
First name out of Coach Pettine's mouth was Kirksey. Wants to increase his role and get him our there with the ones. Evidently it's has been quite the battle between Kirksey and Craig Robinson for the starting spot. They both played well in the game I watched Saturday.
The coach went on to say that it is hard to just give everything to a rookie but there are plenty of different packages (base, nickel, dime special teams) to get both linebackers work. I think it's safe to say Kirksey is making the team. Keep up the hard work! Man we will really miss him this year I promise ya. Go Hawks! Current and former!
