Did you need some attention? Do you show up at funerals and say "yea he was great but all these other people were probably better?" Come on, show some class.

I probably did a poor job of communicating my thoughts on this and it came across as somehow critical or "po boying" the Ferentz's extremely generous donation, which wasn't even close to the intention of my post. Especially in light of the circumstances surrounding their donation. But that's on me for not doing better to convey my thoughts and I own that.

What I was trying to get across was simply In response to the posts praising the Ferentz donation by pointing out that there are millions of people across the country that give as much of their overall time, talent, and treasure to wonderful causes and they deserve our thanks and praise as well.

But in this day and age, with tribalism seemingly taking over at every turn, it seems like making an opinion on one side automatically means you're against the other side. Both things can be true/praised at the same time without it denigrating or belittling the other. I hope we can all be better than that!

I hope their huge donation will raise the awareness and lead to many, many small donations that might even surpass the $1M they gave!
