Kirk Ferentz should be ASHAMED of himself

Ferments should be ashamed for many reasons. Among those is refusal to play Wadley in the red zone. Also classic Iowa hand off left to Daniels on the one yard line. Gee, no one could see that one coming. (Except my wife)

If you watch that play, the FB goes untouched into the end zone. Just think if he had the ball, that woulda been 7 points

I see both sides of this. On one hand if the doctors say he's not going to hurt it anymore and the kid, who's basically played hurt his whole career says he is good to go, you keep him in. But as a coach you have to be the one to say enough is enough. The pick 6 should of been enough.

Doctors would have told Ferentz if CJ couldn't play. CJ would have told Ferentz if he couldn't play.

CJ's horrible half-time stats have been seen before multiple times this season and he's never been pulled. That's not a reason to pull him this game.

Being a SR QB with winning percentage he has over the years has earned him the right to stay in a game until the game is out of reach. Taking him out while the game was still "competitive" would have been disrespectful to CJ.

I thought CJ should have come out with 9-10 minutes remaining because it was no longer a game.

Ferentz should be ashamed because Florida showed the importance of throwing the ball downfield in a pro-style. Appleby sucked for two drives and they still came out throwing downfield the third drive; Appleby got confidence and it was downhill after that.

Iowa ran into 9 and 10 men in the box.
Throwing the ball 35-40 yards downfield is at worst intercepted = a punt. Throwing 6-8 yards every play does not stretch the defense and at worst is pick sixes.

Well they didn't, but they should have. In the grand scheme of things, CJ was immobile after that play and it put him in far greater danger than he could (and thankfully he's this way, that's what we all love about him) ever realize. It is the COACHES job to not only put the best players on the field to win the game, but to protect the players that NEED protected.

No matter how this will inevitably be spun, Ferentz failed Beathard today.

Kirk and GD. "We were supposed to fight for Will (CJ)"

Keeping an injured, totally ineffective player in the game is the way to go? So you don't disrespect your QB by pulling him too soon, before he can throw another 3 INTs.
Are we worried about actually winning a football game or whether or not someone gets disrespected? Good lord..

Just saw CJ on the local news........"Yeah I pulled my hamstring pretty hard on that play. After that I couldn't even run." Then why in the F was he playing?

Indiana just fired their head coach FOR CAUSE for doing what KF just did to CJB. If I were the parent of a good HS QB and I watched that game, there is NO WAY I would allow my son to play for Iowa. "Let me get this straight...even if you get a chance to play in the NFL, there's a chance that you may lose that chance because your maniac coach will keep playing you injured?"

If Iowa wanted to get out of their contract, they just got a way.

Ok, KF should have sat CJ, agreed. Even if CJ wanted to stay out there. But this isn't the same scenario of Indiana, not even close. And if the university tried to fire for cause, in this case, they would lose a lot of money. Well, a lot More money...

Are you a parent of a really good hs QB?

Hey wait a minute, I thought KF played the players that gave Iowa the best chance to win? CJ could barely jog to the sidelines when coming off the field. That game was still not out of reach at the start of the second half.
