Kinnick seating

Going back to IC for a Hawk game this fall. Have not been to Kinnick in a long time. Are the first few rows too close to see the action? I don't want to look at the backs of players. Are there usually tix being sold outside or should I hit up stubhub to make sure I get a good seat?

we sit in i think row 8 or 9 and it is fine but were in middle of field not sure how it would be if you were on the 20.

I prefer not to go below row 20...can still see a little lower but unless you're in the middle of the field going lower than that can be an issue.

Always tickets being sold outside, price and what you can get are up in the air however. Use stubhub if you aren't looking for the cheapest ticket possible and want to know that you're getting the seats you want.

As for the seating, it all comes down to personal preference. I personally enjoy being down low....literally on the field. I've sat in rows 5, rows 8, rows 12 near the 10 yardline. When the action is on your side of the field, the experience is great. When it's on the other side of the field, I was looking at the jumbotron quite often.

Really, anything about row 20 is "high enough" to see down the field.

As for your ticket question, it depends on the game. There are always scalpers outside the stadium. It's not illegal to buy/sell on Kinnick property, so you don't have to worry about getting in trouble.
I personally don't enjoy scalping because it cuts into tailgating. Just buy the week of the game, and you'll get tickets for a fair price.

I sat it row 25, 15 yard line for years. Great view of the action on that end..and you could hear the crunch and see the player's eyes. But on the other side of the 50 the view got progressively worse...particularly in the Red Zone.

I have buddies in Row 2 behind the visitor's bench...and though it's cool, more than 20 yards away it's just a mass of bodies. But they love it.

I'm in Row 40 now and think it's about perfect.

And I know folks above the entry tunnels...one in Row 52 and one up much higher and they love the view they get of the plays developing.

It's all personal preference. The closer you get the more intensity you'll feel...but the less of a "TV" view you get of the plays. It is cool though watching a guy crash into the defender and shed him...or a guy leaping across into the endzone if you're in Row 5 near the goal line.

I sit in row 4 on the 40 behind the Iowa bench and love it. We pretty much stand the whole game. From this locations we see everything great except the opposite red zone, where we loose depth perception. If the ball is between the 30's they are the best seats in the how, like you coaching the team.
