This is one of my favorite 1939 videos. I like it that it includes pregame and halftime footage. This was also the most gritty of all the games. Kinnick's punts were game changers for sure!

Awesome game! Interesting how BOTH teams wore home uniforms. Anyone know when the home, and away uni tradition began?

This was the 2nd Iowa-ND game, the first during the 1921 National Championship season
New Iowa Coach Eddie Anderson (from Mason City) played for Knute Rockne on that 1921 Notre Dame team
Hawkeyes were 2-0 vs the Irish

The next year they would go 3-0 vs Notre Dame. Iowa's touchdown that game was scored by Bill Green following a Ken Petit fumble recovery. Iowa won the game 7-0.

I also liked the remoteness of the stadium, all the men wearing hats, the liberty bell with the 'crack' in it....all good stuff.
