King as returner

I'm not afraid to say it but he needs to improve and fast. Aside from the one return he was way to shaky for my taste.

Someone said Parker was giving him pointers before the game. I like King back there...but I'm glad he made the mistake on the kick off in this game. Damn...if you are sprinting to the sideline to catch a kick off...bad, bad, bad...let it go. Nothing good can come of that...nothing. Stop...watch...advance to 25 yard line...or further.

ferentz did say in the post game that he considered pulling him during the game - he made a lot of bad decisions - lets hope he learns going forward - some of those mistakes will cost iowa going forward.

Honestly, I don't get touching a ball near the sideline. It's not that tough mentally to remember that. I damn near had a vein pop in my head on that one. After all the airplay we had with Parker's gaff last year...he's got to know better.

Risk/reward. As the mistakes were mental, hopefully some of the risk will diminish as the season goes on.

I think his muscles are cramping and tightening up from inactivity during the defensive plays because the opposition quarterbacks aren't even pretending to test him anymore.

He made mistakes for sure but that big return set up the win

His PR to the 50 yard line shows just how talented he really is. Go watch the replay. He was setting up and using blocks and changing direction in close quarters. So, unless someone else can do just as good and is more consistent at it, you stick with King. I'm calling at least 2 PR returns for touchdowns this season.

It will be another Micah Hyde story. He will wait till he gets to the NFL before he becomes a good punt returner. Speaking of the NFL, what are the odds King is good enough to leave for the NFL after his junior season? I predict he will be back at Iowa for his Senior season, mainly because he will want to come back.

It' a good thing that the other team punts so often. I'm sure he'll learn to let punts land, throw a block to slow down coverage and then ALSO get away from the ball - just run the other way !

No shxt he needs to improve... You think someone who has never returned at this level can just come in and go crazy? Give him time. The only one that I remember coming in and having an instant impact was when DJK was out on KOR
