Thought the coaches were out of their mind to replace a serviceable punter with another scholarship punter last year. Kidd was not good last year. He's been instrumental this year.

Thought Meier had no business starting the past year or two and highlighted Iowa's bad recruiting and attrition by putting a undersized, "motor" guy out there. He's a top tier B1G end this year (probably not a pro-prospect though - would love to be wrong).

Wrong on both points. Coaches get the big bucks for a reason, apparently.

It's interesting to say the least to see how those two have progressed. You're right, Kidd wasn't a very good punter last season. But it's amazing to see how confident he looks this season kicking the ball, you can tell he put in some work this summer. I can see Meir making a squad next season, at least practice squad.
