Kickoff Times, TV for 7 ‘19 Hawkeye Games

Remember when all parts of the game were brought to us for free? Now every moment in every game is brought to us by a sponsor. Kick off, pitching changes, lineups, uniform descriptions.....if we lost the sponsors we be fucked!

The NBA even sold it’s like those soccer dweebs and started putting advertisements on jerseys.

Can you imagine the day that a Yankees jersey has a Dominoes Pizza logo on it?

I never ever thought the Black Friday game would be relegated to BTN.

Well when the hawks have been dominating Nebby the tv people start to think it is not that big of a game. haha, just kidding in a way has Nebby has to have this game highlighted on the schedule like several other games

This would make a lot more sense if Iowa had a nicer football stadium and basketball arena.

Iowa may build a new basketball wrestling etc arena but not a football stadium. Kinnick is looking really good, better bathrooms and water drinking spots, if you dont like the food eat before the game and bring in some food and bring in an unopened bottle of water.

As far as the seating goes it is a bit cramped at time so pay $45 and get a seatback to stake your claim to your little area. I could see the Admin slowly changing bench seating to individual seats starting in the center of the stadium. IT all depends on how many seats you would lose.

"The Kinnick Edge Kickoff game, presented by the Eastern Iowa Airport"

Seriously? Is this just a trade for access to the super-secret fast security line for big donors?

And if attendance drops a bit and stays that way due to changing times across the country look for the seats to get a bit wider.

We have the Nike logo on ours and the ANF on the helmet is bought and paid for by the Farm Bureau (big farm lobby).

I could forgive and forget all this sponsor BS if they would just sell beer at Hawkeye football games. But until then, I'm just going to have to hold a grudge.

Most definitely wider. I wouldnt be surprised to see the option for fans to purchase online pay packages to lessen the ad content and replace it with more game coverage. I think items like that could easily bring attendance down and Kinnick to go down to 65K and then even 60K.

This is my first year without season tickets since 73 or 74 and I am only going to select games with good weather.

The recliner is a nice way to watch a game at my age.

Nah, then it will be complain about beer prices, beer options, beer temperature, beer lines, etc, etc.

I'll take the jersey sponsorships associated with commercial free soccer as opposed to a media stoppage after an extra point and a kickoff to give networks an opportunity to ram the same Buffalo Wild Wings commercial down our throats that we were privileged enough to get to watch at the last commercial break.

The money from jersey sponsorships wouldn’t probably even reach 1% of what is spent on tv commercials. That is ridiculously huge money.

Agreed, but they can incorporate the sponsorships during the broadcast as opposed to making us go to a commercial. The money could still be there if they did away with constant stoppages and found a way to work it in to the broadcast.
