KF tv show

I watched KF's tv show. I think most fans would like to know why Stanzi can not or will not throw the ball away. Dolph never asks anything but soft ball questions. KF makes alot of money and should answer some tougher questions. I will not be able to listen to KF's radio show Wed. If anyone listens could you ask this question. Thanks

He has not needed to throw the ball away much this year but he has still been a lot smarter with the ball. We've seen him move around the pocket fairly comfortably but he also has pulled it down and taken the sack from time to time. If you are referring to the last 4 plays of the game (which I'm not sure you are but that is what most people I have talked to are complaining about in his decision making process). . . he didn't have time to fart let alone get out of the pocket to throw it away.

I think in those last plays, he had time to throw it away before the first sack, but then after that you are correct, he didn't have enough time to fart.

I agree with joker, I think maybe that first or second sack of the game in the first half he could've gotten out of the pocket to throw the ball away but other than that I thought he did a fine job. Gained some big yards with his legs, and still should not have an INT this season and maybe if that drive continued he would've tacked on another TD. That would have been 4 TD and 0 INT. He is a smarter QB this year, and there was no way that he could've gotten away with those last slew of sacks to end the game, I was at the game and I was sitting right there, felt as awful as it looked. We'll be fine this year if special teams doesn't fall apart again, that was terrible!
Go Hawks!

I think what people fail to realize is that Rick couldn't just simply throw it away. The line was eaten alive, but what is the point of just throwing the ball away...you lose anyway. Rick ate those sacks because he had to TRY and make something happen...just didn't happen.

On the second and two play, he absolutely had time to throw it away. Hell, he double pumped before he went down. 3rd and 2 is a hell of a lot more manageable than 3rd and 12.

Any hope of a comeback went right out the window with that sack; the next two were just insult to injury.

Gary Dolphin isn't a sports journalist. He's a Learfield employee and (indirectly) a representative of the University of Iowa, just like Ferentz is. It's not his job to put pressure on Kirk (or anyone else for that matter).

When a team is in the spread and the D sends the house, isn't it customary for the inside 2 WR's to run quick slants to the vacated area and provide a release for the Qb?
This is why we don't send the Lb's very often because we play the safe mode.

I know I am not a football guru or anything, but with the way the O line was able to block in the last drive, and even before, I don't understand why we weren't moving the pocket or running a few screens or draws to negate the bull rush that was Stanzi's undoing. Also I felt like ARob did an awful job of helping pick up the blitz or at least chipping a little at the ends and backers. Hampton does a much better job of blocking than ARob. Also where were the Tight Ends all night? It amazes me how they can be so awesome one game and non existent the next.

typically yes. but my concern is that we should play to his strengths, stanzi's successes have always been when we roll the pocket out. why we did not do this on the last series blows my mind (also because it typically kills or strings out a blitz long enough for a pass attempt or a scramble for SOME yards eventually getting out of bounds unscathed). I would have honestly liked to see a run on 2nd and 2 (its not like it was under a minute to go!) Think back to the RUN/KEEPER option out of shotgun for 15+yds through a gaping hole against Penn State that a dump truck could have driven through. Why not that type of play? that pretty much ensures a 3rd and short (if we didnt get that 3rd down it is safe to say it is much more difficult to defend a 4th and short than 4th and 6+)

Thank you.

He was trying to make it happen, and it wasn't.

AZ set out to stop the run, and probably set out to stop the TE. Their LBs would be fast enough to get the job done, especially if the TE didn't go out on routes but instead stayed back in protect.

I agree that Hampton is a much better blocker than arob.
