KF can't get this team to play a full 60 minutes - we need some fire

And just so we're clear, I thought the 3rd and 1 call was ballsy as hell and loved it. Powell and Ruddock aren't quite there from a chemistry standpoint. Under threw him the first time and Powell held up on that last one. Of course going for it on 4th and 1 would've been blasphemous to Kirk in that spot. In my opinion, you can't call that on 3rd and 1 without knowing if you miss, you'll go for it.

And there lies the problem...just enough confidence to let GDGD make a ballsy call (questionable to be sure based on needing to be running on every play at that point because it was WORKING), but not confident enough in him to put a 4th and 1 play in. dumb and disheartening. In fact, I was content with the play calling most of the game until the 4th qtr. (granted, they sure didn't run anything to set up a future play the entire second half, and to make matters worse, they didn't follow through in exploiting many of the successful plays that worked in the first half).

There is definitely an improvement over 2012 in that Ruduck shows some mobility, and I think we can still struggle to .500 or better by the time we play OSU. Ultimately, for the team to have "fire" for 60 minutes, then the coach has to show he can coach for 60 minutes.

I wish KF would get rid of this can't get to high or to low after games. I want the team to come out on fire. I want them to have a desire to exact revenge against Iowa State, Nebraska among others. Maybe if KF could do this himself he would realize it can be a good thing.

^^^ this is the point. KF is still our coach but he has to get some chemistry going, he has to get these guys playing at a higher level. they come out flat as they did against central mich last year and get behind.

Man, got to pound and make plays to score first at home.
