Beathard finding Hamilton on 3rd and 5/6, with pressure in his face. His arm strength and accuracy made that play. I don't think Rudock could have made that play. It kept the go ahead drive alive.
That was a great throw at an important time. It took guts and an arm and my daughters and I could hardly believe it.Absolutely, right on. Not only what you stated, but it shows the moxy a stones the kid has. Not only did his backpedalling buy time for Hamilton to get open (the throw speaks for itself), but let's not forget, CJ got hammered after the release. This kid has "it" in my opinion.

However, the ice bucket challenge comes (cold water).
CJ did not get hammered after the release. The Pitt defender put his arm around CJ's waist and did a little dosey-doe with him.
And, I believe Jon is being a little too starry-eyed thinking that CJ is going to play a lot next week. If JR is healthy he will start and play until the game gets out-of-hand for CJ to take over the remainder of the game.
What am I saying. Now I'm being too starry-eyed. Out-of-hand?
Ok, seriously, JR will play all but a couple of series: one in each half. That's my bet.
Knew it was a good play right away with pressure coming.
Then they showed the angle behind the LoS and you see the zip the ball has and how perfectly it hits Ray in stride and it was twice as impressive!!!

GREAT CATCH too. It was also pass interference. The defender clearly hit Hamilton before he caught the ball.

I didn't remember it that way watching it today and I just watched it again twice and the defender definitely didn't get their before the ball and it was a routine catch.
Great post and observation. I said out loud when it happened " ruddock can't make that play". that play is what stretches defenses.
Had ruddock been in the game for that play it's either a sack or more likely a check down to someone in the flat for a gain of -1 yard.
If you recorded the game go to the 13:15 mark of the 4th and watch this play and tell me this isn't the most fired up (by far) you've seen Ray Hamilton all year! Not hard to understand why!
Check out what Blythe does to the linebacker at the end of the play.I don't know. Hamilton definitely isn't afraid to get fired up when something good happens.
