Keno Davis joins the BTN

Getting paid to do nothing because you sucked at your last job is not the same as having a career. I'd say it flamed out but that doesnt mean he's done

I'd love to suck so bad that they paid me to do nothing. That's pretty much my dream. :)

if by "flamed out quick" you mean "is likely still getting paid and made enough money in 3 years to never work again"

I am sure his dream was always to finish in 14th place two years in a row, and then lose his job and become a broadcaster before he turns 40.

The same can be said about Lickliter.

Both will likely get back into a HC job, but both were National Coaches of the Year and both are no longer head coaches after flaming out in their last jobs.

I just remember before Fran was hired, the top three fan favs were Keno, Bruce Pearl, and Steve Forbes. When the word about Fran came down, this place exploded in rage because it wasn't one of those three.

/cool story bro, tell it again

I don't see any schools beating Keno's door down to get him to coach their team. Mr. Davis did a nice job of setting Keno up for a big payday. I don't see him getting another one.

You're absolutely right, Ghostie, and I was one of those pulling for either Pearl or Forbes. Never that high on Keno. Always wanted Pearl back at Iowa one day, seeing him as a solid coach, passionate salesman for the program and a great recruiter. Didn't realize he had the baggage to go with it.

Why anyone would have wanted Steve Forbes is beyond me. You don't see a lot of BCS level teams going after a teams second assistant with no Division One head coaching experience.

if he's ever going to get another chance, he's going to have to start back at the mid-major ranks. will be interesting to see if he goes that route, gets an assistant gig, or if he sticks with broadcasting.

I bet even his dad got him the job at BTN.
